I was one of the compositors on this shot responsible for painting out, and adding in, the blood on the lens as the shot progresses through multiple transitions. I spent nearly 2 months on the task (shake didn’t have projection workflows!).

It really says it all that in a business composed entirely of legendary oddballs, weirdos, cranks, and curmudgeons, John Romita was the ONE man that every single professional past and present would point to as a pure gentleman and talent. Very few like that. May’ve only been one.

I’m going to reiterate how much it sucks that a film @ihultquist & I spent nearly a year on (as composers! imagine the other film makers!) is disappearing from streaming on Disney+ today…. Long live #Rosaline & may it find another home soon! ♥️ cc @karen__maine @editrix_rex

Elevator To The Gallows (1958) score was composed and performed by Miles Davis in a one session recording while he watched a screening of the film. He took notes while watching the rough cut and then invited 4 fellow musicians without preparation to record it in one go. Genius.

The ongoing discussion about AI and writing keeps bringing me back to this quote from A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN: "It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great." Writing isn't about shortcuts; it's about digging deeper.
Something's really wrong when the tiny indie you cut in 2018 has better distro than the studio film you cut in 2022.
Our low-budget indie YES, GOD, YES is currently available on Red Box, Google Play, Apple TV, You Tube, Prime Video, Starz, etc.
