Imagine if, on the anniversary of Hiroshima, Americans marched past Japanese communities waving American flags and denouncing Japan. Or if Britain chose the anniversary of Dresden to stage victory marches through London. We don’t. Those dates are treated with sensitivity because whatever your view of the wider war, the anniversary of mass civilian death is not the day to celebrate.
Yet on 7 October — the anniversary of the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust — demonstrators have deliberately chosen to march through London for the Palestinian cause.
They do it, simply, because they are utterly repugnant human beings

You used to walk into a bank and hand a human a bit of paper. They understood what it was. Now the same transaction requires three apps, a password you last knew in 2023, a text code that arrives after the app lockout, a captcha gameshow contest in which you must correctly identify every blurred bicycle and a chatbot that glibly says “I understand your frustration”.
Buying a sandwich used to involve money and a person. It now often requires Wi-Fi, a QR code that expired forty-seven seconds ago, two-factor authentication, and a phone perilously lurking at 1% battery while the app decides whether your own face looks sufficiently human enough actually to pass off as you.
We used to lose our keys and get locked out. Now we get locked out of our own phone if we lose a password or it doesn’t even recognise our own face.
You used to get lost and ask a stranger. Now you stare at a blue dot until the signal dies and realise you have no idea which way is north and the the satellite navigation map would like to know your precise location forever in exchange for the privilege of being wrong.
Customer service used to be a person. It is now a massive FAQ articulated b a robot who has never seen the product, followed by “was this helpful?”, then a survey about the survey on the standard of customer service. The queue had people in it. The chatbot has a script and an inability to deal with specific questions.
We swapped paper maps for phones that need signal, paper tickets for apps that crash at the barrier and paper books for subscriptions that vanish the moment a company “updates its terms.” Meanwhile, the countryside is being paved with data centres so an algorithm can generate a picture of a cat in a tiny hat and you still get a hosepipe ban because it was sunny for four days despite the data centre guzzling vast resources of water.
Friends now socialise primarily through a group chat in which nobody has suggested the pub since March. The elderly require an adult child, a login and an IT degree just to see a doctor. Banks close. GPs go app-only. Parking, menus, council tax, pensions and the electricity bill all demand another code, another verification, another proof that you are not a robot trying to pay for your own heating bill.
We are less free, more tracked, constantly interrupted and still late because the parking app crashed because of poor wifi signal in the street. But at least we correctly identified the online traffic lights in a captcha grid to prove we are human. Progress. Apparently.

Times Square billboard honors the 1,200 victims of October 7th ahead of the 3rd anniversary. 🇮🇱
The faces of victims including Shani Louk have been displayed on a giant billboard to remind passers by of the massacre carried out by Palestinian terrorists.

Ed Sheeran le dijo que NO a la bandera de Palestina y los músicos lo abandonaron en pleno recital. ¿Qué hizo? Se los pasó por los huevos y siguió tocando
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Es Sheeran's concerts start the same way. It tells how its make its music, not related to anyone walking out. Attended three of his concerts waaaaaay before all this happened and he did the same thing. Completely unrelated the video with the statement. 2025: sandiegouniontribune.com/2026/07/22/rev…

Starmer, the pathological liar in his hypocritical dying days, U-Turns yet again.
2023 Asked by BBC Radio 4’s Today programme whether he would hand out resignation honours, Starmer said: “No. There are other opportunities.”
Even the Guardian recorded it.

Is she really the Safeguarding minister for violence against women and girls? 🤦
You just couldn't write it...she must resign...her position has been massively compromised by this inappropriate post.
Didn't @LucyTCWife delete her tweet in much less time than it took for @NatalieFleetMP to, yet she was jailed.
2 tier politics at its finest!

The issuer of that vile statement is a man, as anyone with even 1% vision could tell you. Specifically, he’s a man who said he hoped she died handcuffed to a bed and screaming in agony.

Is there anyone less suited to giving an overview of Anne Widdecombe’s life, than Adam Bolton? Just listen to his grubby, misogynistic commentary. The man is a disgusting dinosaur.🦖
What in God’s name were Sky thinking of?
Watching @DjokerNole and @janniksin in the semi final @Wimbledon is fantastic but listening to the commentary from Andre Agassi takes it up another level. Outstanding and insightful 🎾

So now that FIFA has opened up a can of worms by enabling USA’s Folarin Balogun to play against Belgium after opting not to enforce an immediate suspension, will they now do the same for England’s Jarell Quansah so he can play against Norway?

110 years ago today, on 1 July 1916, the Battle of the Somme began.
In a single day, the British Army suffered over 57,000 casualties, more than 19,000 of them killed.
A generation of young men walked into hell on earth.
Lest we forget.

It's always the airports - with their acres of tarmac and concrete soaking up the sun - not to mention the jets landing and taking off every few minutes throughout the day - and yet they put temperature sensitive weather stations there - it was supposed to provide information for the aircraft taking off & landing, wind speed, direction, temperature for dew points, icing etc NOT to reinforce climate change hysteria.
