Due to ongoing regional tensions, we have updated our travel advice regarding entry to countries bordering Iran. Iran’s borders with neighbouring countries may have restrictions for foreign travellers and may close at short notice. If you are in Iran and plan to depart across a land border and consider it safe to do so, check the travel advice of the country you intend to enter before travelling to the border, including visa requirements: gov.uk/middle-east-updates Travel advice is kept under regular review to ensure it reflects our latest assessment of risks to British nationals.

Ukrainian forces have captured several positions south of Danilovka and have also recaptured Yegorovka and Privilla. The enemy has thus been driven out of Kalinovka and parts of Novomikhailovka. Awesome, guys🫡🙌

It's drivel written by a press office that appears to be detached from the daily reality of the market place. At least when the press office closes the life of the town centre continues without their bleated platitudes

On Lower Bond Street Hinckley to see the arrival of the statue of Ada Lovelace mathematician who has links to the local area having lived in Kirkby Mallory. Thanks to all the volunteers who’ve put so much effort into getting this to happen

So the @AskNationwide no longer offer any kind of child or trust account that I can open for a friends newly born. I have older accounts for other ‘god children’ but they no longer offer that. Apparently only the parents can and in their name only. So no protection on the money.

@edfordham Thankyou Sir for your vote against Unitary Authorities last Thursday Derbyshire County Council. Centralising power & weakening democratic process is NOT what our members and other residents want! Pity other councillors ignored that. D_times @CllrAlanG

Having pointed out that Sir Stephen Eyre, the original judge in the Epping Forest case, is a former Conservative candidate, I should now add that Sir David Bean, who led the appeal court judgement, was once chairman of the Labour-affilated Fabian Society.
Mr Justice Eyre, who made today's Epping Bell Hotel judgement, was Conservative candidate in the 2004 Birmingham Hodge Hill by-election.
