The recently published Deep #Geothermal #Energy White Paper, The case for deep geothermal energy - unlocking investment at scale in the UK is a very interesting & informative read northeastlep.co.uk/wp-conten… @GELtd Dr Ryan Law & Hazel Farndale were report consultees.
This graphic shows types of #geothermal #energy.
🪨 from shallow to deep
🪨 from closed loop groundwater and mine-water to deep aquifers and granite
🪨 to repurposing oil and gas wells
#GeothermalEnergy is secure, from the ground beneath our feet. Let’s use it.
We encourage you all to ask your MP to support #geothermalenergy in your constituency – check out our map below, showing about a third of UK constituencies have good resources that can help meet #NetZero targets and provide #energysecurity NOW.

The launch of our geothermal plant is a proud moment for Cornwall.
Cornwall is leading the way in alternative energy projects, with wind, lithium and other renewable energies forming a major focus within the county.
@invest_cornwall has produced this film to tell us more.
Introducing our latest campaign ‘The Power of Cornwall’ - which includes a film featuring broadcaster Simon Reeve, and highlights how Cornwall’s location, geology, and rich heritage are all unique assets in the pursuit of net zero. Find out more here: tinyurl.com/fdsrn558

As well as providing energy to @EdenProject, we’ll also be supplying a new nursery, Growing Point.
It aims to produce almost 1m plants in its first full year of operation – for the Biomes, Gardens, retail and food for thousands of Eden visitors. Food metres, not food miles!
Did you know #geothermal has minimal visual impact? It’s got the lowest surface footprint of any energy source, and no buildings higher than 10m. Check out our infographic below.
