On Sunday, Hearts play Celtic for the first time since *that* final day fixture.
@COPA90 & I were there for every second of it, where what we captured resulted in one of the most powerful documentaries we’ve ever made.

Some 17pc go through an entire working day without speaking to anyone face-to-face while 40pc feel lonely at work, 37pc have no close friends there and almost a third felt lonelier in the office than they did alone at home during lockdown.
@rorysutherland the vice-chairman of Ogilvy and a Spectator columnist, believes the origins of today’s antisocial workplace can be traced back to the popularisation of the open-plan office.
While it was adopted to save money on floor space, he says it was sold on false promises of enhanced sociability and collaboration: “Now, there’s nowhere you can have a chat without disturbing or annoying someone else.”

Doing some gonzo journalism where I’m a passenger at a UK airport waiting for a presumably extremely delayed or cancelled flight. Real laugh. Ready to phone in to a national broadcast studio at a moment’s notice

With the heroes of the @RNLI under attack again, I’m reminded of this passage from Bill Bryson.

ALT I had never really stopped to consider what an extraordinary thing the Royal National Lifeboat Institution is. Think about it. A troubled ship calls for help, and eight people - teachers, plumbers, the guy who runs the pub - drop everything and put to sea, whatever the weather, asking no questions, imperilling their own lives, to try to help strangers. Is there anything more brave and noble than that? The RNLI - I looked this up later - is an organization run by volunteers, supported entirely by public donations. It maintains 233 stations around the coast of Britain and averages twenty-two call-outs per day. It saves 350 lives a year on average.

Banned from Reform's conference (again)...
It seems the self proclaimed "defenders of free speech" aren't fans of free speech.
For the second year in a row, I have been banned from Reform UK's conference. I applied for accreditation and was told that it had been rejected.
It’s worth noting that I regularly report from Conservative, Labour, Plaid, Green and Lib Dem conferences.
I was actually given a press pass for the Reform conference in Wales in the autumn of 2024. While there I interviewed Nigel Farage.
Just before the interview one of his long-time inner circle came up to me and whispered “I have never worked with you before, and whether we work together again will depend on what happens next”.
It seems I failed the test.
The ability of journalists to question, scrutinise and report on the actions of politicians is one of the absolutely fundamental cornerstones of any functioning democracy.
The banning of reporters they don’t like is, in my view, a clear indication of where the party really stands on free speech as well as how they would behave if they were to hold the full power of government including the police, armed forces and security services.

for clarity, i don't think i was banned from reform conference, i think i wasn't accredited because i applied to report for my non-name youtube channel. i think @PeterKGeoghegan and @MichaelLCrick were banned because of their reporting
