Had a blast hopping on the DoR Podcast with Jen getting to peel back the curtain a bit on what we think about and solve for here at Brooks. Thank you @DoctorsRunning for having us!
In our latest podcast, we talk with Jennifer Sumner and @edayrun, biomechanists at @brooksrunning. They give us an inside look at how Brooks' unique approach to biomechanical testing and research in shoe development

Opening for an RII position! If you obsess over the granular details of running shoes, love asking "why?", applying scientific insights to product creation, and just love any and all things running - please apply!
Brooks shoes so soft they make great pillows ;)
This is Blu. She's had a long day of being tiny and cute. Very grateful she found somewhere to rest her head. 12/10 moving is now illegal

ALT a person’s legs are visible while they sit in a stool. they have one foot propped up and the other gray sneaker resting on the wood floor. a teeny tiny tricolor puppy with silvery gray, brown, and white fur is resting her chin on the toe of the gray running shoe, which is bigger than she is, while the rest of her body is curled up beside it. her eyes look a little droopy, like maybe she could go for a nap right now.
Also important to note that CFP is a very blanket term... lots of varying geometries, upper fit & materialization, etc. between shoes that have CFP's.
Sharing an interesting observation of #stressfracture in #carbonfiberplate shoes in #runners. It's an open access paper in @SportsMedicineJ that I hope will facilitate dialogue on how to keep our runners safe while enjoying the sport!

Revel 6 and Levitate 6 now both out! Had a lot of fun working with the Product Team on getting those new sidewall geometries (+entire shoe system) dialed to ensure we hit bmech and perception metrics.

That new Loft v2 compound paired with some very nice geometries and well engineered upper make me go😙
The Ghost 15 has revealed itself at last. Featuring new cushioning and a segmented crash pad for more glide in every stride, this is a shoe so comfortable, you can run forever. And ever. And ever.
Colors may vary due to spookiness 👻 brks.co/Ghost15

The authors found great variation in individual reaction times and confirmed previous reports of simple auditory reactions as fast as 80 ms. They recommend that the 100 ms limit be lowered to 80 or 85 ms….. @WorldAthletics

Let's do better than this, @ACSMNews @AcsmBig
All humans are different. There is no one correct way to run. Everyone is a unique biomechanical system. /story.
Practicing proper form during distance runs is key for both enhancing performance and reducing injury. The cues in this infographic from @UF_SPC & Kevin Vincent, M.D., Ph.D., FACSM, will help you maintain efficient, safe running form.

We just published a paper showing that acute ankle injuries prevail in trail running, in contrast to road running. Therefore, footwear support features should be different for trail running shoes! tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.…
