Their lived experiences as students from low-income & immigrant households offered fresh perspectives to policy. As prospective #FirstGen college students, they networked with policy professionals and learned how to explore career opportunities in the political & advocacy field🙌🏽
Additionally, our students watched a live voting session for the California Legislature. Here, @AsmEGarcia recognized @ecv4change , @cofem & our entire group’s efforts to contribute to positive change and uplift our communities back home in the #CoachellaValley🌱
Thank you to our partner @cofem, staff members with the @AsmEGarcia, Oracio Gonzalez (who co-sponsored lunch), community volunteers & everyone else who made this trip possible! ✨
#ECVtotheCapitol
Our students participated in the #CA policymaking process & imagined themselves in positions of influence. Equipped with advocacy training, they met with legislative offices & the @CAgovernor to share testimonies in support of 4 bills championing greater access to #HigherEd 💪🏽
On June 24th, @ecv4change and @cofem partnered to bring a group of 10 high school students from the #CoachellaValley to the State Capitol in #Sacramento! 🤩 #ECVtotheCapitol
We’re excited to announce that @ecv4change and @cofem will partner to host #ECVtotheCapitol once again this year! 🌟
On June 24th, we're flying out high school students from the #CoachellaValley to the State Capitol to advocate for better access to #HigherEd! 📚
Congratulations to Emely Delgado, a recipient of an @ecv4change scholarship! 💸
This summer, Emely will attend @Harvard's Pre-College Summer School Program, where she will gain invaluable knowledge about the #college experience. 👩🎓 Good luck Emely!! 🌟
Emely is currently a rising senior at #DesertMirageHighSchool & part of @cofem's Youth Advocacy Program. She's a stellar student and a community leader!
We're so happy to support our #CoachellaValley youth in their #highered endeavors! ✨
