Imprecise fda label provides access for precision daraxonrasib therapy 🎯🔥📰👍🏻
🚨⭐️🔥 HOT OFF THE PRESS 🔥 @NatRevClinOncol
⭐️👉Pleased to share our new commentary 👉 @Dr_R_Kurzrock & I love the Daraxonrasib FDA label, and we explain why @FDA
👉 “An imprecise label in the era of precision medicine: labelling and access for daraxonrasib, the first pan-RAS inhibitor approval”
👉The FDA recently approved daraxonrasib for patients with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma who received at least one prior systemic therapy, OR who are not candidates for multiagent systemic therapy.
👉Critics have called that second clause non-evidence-based. We see it differently.
👉Clinical trials generally enroll only patients with good performance status. That does not reflect reality for most people with metastatic pancreatic cancer. Many never reach second-line therapy because their clinical condition deteriorates first. A label written strictly around trial eligibility would leave these patients with nothing.
👉Here, the imprecision enables access. It lets physicians offer an effective RAS-targeted drug to the patients who need it most, at the point in their illness when it can still help.
👉Real-world evidence should resolve any remaining uncertainty.
👉Precision medicine should mean the right drug reaching the right patient, not a label that excludes the sickest among them @OncoAlert @oncodaily @Aiims1742 @KRASKickers @PanCAN @DianaNrco @EileenMOReilly @DrShubhamPant @GIcancerDoc

This is precision medicine given at diagnosis, not after standard of care fails, when it doesn’t work well. The hematologists understood this principle.
Doctors gave me three years.
A clinical trial gave me thirty-one and counting.
I was 37, terminal CML, no bone marrow match. Gleevec was still experimental. I said yes to the trial because it was my only real shot at tomorrow’s medicine today.
That decision let me watch my daughter grow up and become a doctor. It let me keep living.
Clinical trials aren’t a last resort. They’re often the first real chance at more time.
If you’re facing a diagnosis, ask about them. Your story could be the next one that rewrites the odds.

“Same trial. Two regulators. Two completely different conclusions.”
Why did the US FDA Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee (ODAC) hesitate… while the European Medicines Agency Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) moved toward approval?
This isn’t just about camizestrant.
It’s about a much bigger question in oncology:
👉 Should we act when molecular resistance appears?
OR
👉 Wait until radiologic progression becomes visible?
🇺🇸 FDA/ODAC: “Is the evidence mature enough?”
🇪🇺 EMA/CHMP: “Why wait for scans to worsen?”
SERENA-6 may become a defining moment for ctDNA-guided precision oncology.
