Reagan 'Ghostchips' Kelly gave us a podium finish to celebrate in Istanbul. At the 2022 Global Esports Games, hosted by @GE_Federation, he beat the UAE's GTR to win bronze in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. 🥉
Reagan spoke about how much it meant to meet players from around the world and share his Māori identity while representing New Zealand 🇳🇿.
2022 was also the first year a full women's Dota 2 team competed under the E Blacks name at an international competition. During the trip, @redbull invited us to tour the FUT esports house.
We are 4️⃣ days away from celebrating 10 years of E Blacks at @Armageddonexpo.
Come support the E Blacks at Stand 17 at the Auckland Showgrounds, 23 to 26 October.
By December 2022, the E Blacks were back in Indonesia for the @iesf_official World Esports Championships, this time in Bali. Our Dota 2 players and @JMKKiing in eFootball were representing New Zealand, six years after that first Jakarta campaign.
Some names were becoming familiar by then. Josh had already played at the Commonwealth Esports Championships earlier that year, and Bali added another international campaign to his E Blacks story.
5️⃣ days until @Armageddonexpo. We’ll be at stand 17 from Friday 23 October, celebrating the players who’ve worn the E Blacks jersey along the way.
Birmingham in 2022 gave us a few reasons to stay up watching.
At the Commonwealth Esports Championships, our Dota 2 Open team reached the bronze-medal match and finished fourth. Josh ‘JMKKing’ King finished in the top eight in eFootball.
6️⃣ days until our 10-year celebration begins at @Armageddonexpo.
Come find us at stand 17, Auckland Showgrounds, 23–26 October.
A week to go until @Armageddonexpo, and today’s E Blacks memory belongs to Daniel ‘Wowzer’ Cossington.
In 2019, he represented New Zealand in Tekken 7 at the @iesf_official World Championships in Seoul. It was also our first championship campaign as a full IESF member, following New Zealand’s admission the year before.
Wowzer was part of building the history we’ll be celebrating at stand 17, Auckland Showgrounds, 23–26 October 🖤.
Come say hi if you’ve been following along since then👋 .
Daniel ‘DanBanter’ Saeidian had already lost to Kavin ‘KYO’ Li when they met again in the 2018 New Zealand Tekken 7 qualifier final. Coming through the losers bracket meant DanBanter had to beat him twice, which he did.
That comeback earned him the national title and his place in New Zealand’s @iesf_official campaign in Kaohsiung. A pretty good reminder to keep playing when the first result doesn’t go your way.
8 days until we open the E Blacks birthday celebrations at @Armageddonexpo 🎈.
Find us at stand 17, Auckland Showgrounds, 23–26 October 🖤.
In 2017, Thomas ‘Kor_Nnova’ Choi won New Zealand’s Tekken 7 qualifier and took his game to the @iesf_official World Championships in Busan, South Korea.
He made a deep run through the Tekken 7 bracket, putting New Zealand into the closing stages of the competition.
9 days until @Armageddonexpo. We’re celebrating this chapter and plenty more at stand 17, Auckland Showgrounds, 23–26 October 🖤.
10 days until we celebrate 10 years of E Blacks at @Armageddonexpo, so we’re going back to Jakarta in 2016.
Our first @iesf_official World Championships campaign had six players on the entry list: a League of Legends team and Jamie ‘Numnum’ Broughton in Hearthstone. A small New Zealand contingent at the start of a much bigger story.
We’ll be looking back at the players and campaigns that followed over the next ten days.
Come celebrate our decade of E Blacks with us at stand 17, Auckland Showgrounds, 23–26 October 🖤.
Some of the players you have been cheering on in the school league are now wearing the Junior E Blacks name, which is a good reason to keep that support going 🖤 .
This year's programme is underway for Rocket League and Valorant, giving those young players coaching, mentoring and wellbeing support as they work towards representing New Zealand. We want them to have people in their corner while they figure out how far they can take this.
The Junior E Blacks will be at @Armageddonexpo to attend a talk by the Sports Integrity Commission, play with and meet our senior squad, and receive their own E Blacks jersey to round off the programme.

Facing a boss fight alone is scary. A few words can lift someone from a low to a high.
4200 rangatahi in Aotearoa face these battles every year, some of them alone. That's why Canteen Aotearoa exists.
Write your message on our flag. We'll carry it to Los Angeles for the E Blacks, for a young person impacted by cancer, or both.
Join the lobby. Let's take on something bigger than us, together.

The KIA E Blacks EV5 is at Eden Park today, entertaining fans before the Warriors kickoff, letting them play their favourite team before they watch them play 😏 .
If you're at the NRL Finals today, come say hi 👋 .
#UptheWahs 💪
A first for us, and one we're genuinely proud of ❤️.
We've partnered with Canteen for the E Blacks Flag campaign. Donate $10, and you'll get your own block to write a message of support. Your message will be printed onto a flag that our E Blacks will carry to the Global Esports Games in Los Angeles this December.
Your words travel further than you'd think: every donation helps support 4200 rangatahi impacted by cancer. Canteen shows up for them, so we're showing up too.
Donate today and claim your block ❤️.

🔥100 DAYS TO GO🔥
The countdown is ON.
In 100 days, the world comes together in Los Angeles for GEGLA26, where esports, sport, culture and community meet on one global stage.
The athletes are preparing. The competition is heating up. The road to LA is getting shorter.
And the energy? It’s only getting started.
From every corner of the world, the journey leads to LA this December.

Welcome to our new Clash players🖤
Three new @eblacks_ confirmed 🖤.
Our eFootball player, @JMKKiing, and Clash Royale Women's and Open division players have officially earned their place on the NZ team heading to the Global Esports Games this December in LA🏆.
For Clash Royale, this is the first time we've had players carry New Zealand's colours in the title at this level.
Gratz to all three on the qualifying 🇳🇿.

Friendliness is not a weakness in this space. It's actually one of New Zealand's strengths.
We put the question to our #EBlacks: what makes Kiwis different? @magicnzdota and @DotaTobz both landed on the same answer. We're good people to play with.
Competitive gaming online has a reputation for a reason, and we're not pretending every Kiwi is an exception, but the consensus means something. In rooms that can turn toxic quickly, our players think Kiwis make them better. 🎮

Who comes out of tonight carrying the region on their shoulders?
Seven kiwi players step into the Street Fighter 6 Oceania Qualifier at 8:00 PM NZST, each fighting through double elimination brackets for a single spot at #ENC26 in November.
There is no margin for two losses and no path back after that. The stakes are high but the players are ready.
