Typical clinic day now includes a 2-year-old who only has 5 words, an 8-year-old with new-onset obesity, and a preschool-age child with no social skills from being home bound. A disastrous avalanche of child health probs of our own making—not “from the pandemic.” @AmerAcadPeds
I guess I will be quitting my job because apparently I can’t leave Mr. Darcy unsupervised. Came home from evening clinic last night to this 😳

The entire premise of ‘gender transition’ is a fraud.
After cross-sex hormones and surgery, the share of young Finns needing psychiatric care went from 19% to 49%!
Finland tracked every young person sent to its gender clinics, for up to 25 years. Among those given cross-sex hormones or surgery, 19.2% had needed specialist psychiatric care before their first clinic visit. After their last procedure, 48.9% did. Their matched peers stayed flat.
We were told cross-sex hormones and surgery would fix these young people's mental health. Finland checked. After the drugs and the surgery, far more of them needed psychiatric care, not fewer.
What Finland found
Finland sends every young person who wants a medical "gender reassignment" to one of two university hospital clinics, in Helsinki and Tampere. Researchers led by Dr. Sami-Matti Ruuska, an adolescent psychiatrist, and Prof. Riittakerttu Kaltiala, a professor of adolescent psychiatry at Tampere University, pulled the national health records for every one of them.
That's 2,083 people under 23 who went to those clinics between 1996 and 2019. Each was matched with eight people of the same birth year and hometown, 16,643 in all. Some were followed for up to 25 years.
The new numbers
Critics claimed the first analysis might have counted people who hadn't had their drugs or surgery yet. So in September the authors ran it again, starting the clock only after each person's last step: cross-sex hormones, breast removal, or genital surgery.
•Before their first gender-clinic visit, 19.2% had needed specialist psychiatric care.
•At some point after their last procedure, 48.9% did.
•Their matched peers, counted from the same dates, went from 14.4% to 13.2%.
After their last procedure, these young people were about six times as likely as the general population to need specialist psychiatric care. That held for both males and females.

Every study finding "evidence" that medical transition is beneficial is like 53 people sent a questionnaire two years after transition with a 40 percent loss to follow up rate.
Meanwhile, Finland has rigorously tracked the mental health of every single patient who received gender medicalization over decades in the entire country and found that the rate at which patients required mental health treatment more than doubled after transition.
The study is orders of magnitude larger and more methodologically rigorous than anything ever attempted by those claiming transition is medically necessary and lifesaving. And yet trans activists pretend that the vastly stronger study is weaker than their collection of hundreds of laughably weak, underpowered, and self-evidently tendentious studies. Any multiple of zero is zero.
The entire premise of ‘gender transition’ is a fraud.

During her talk at Rutgers last week, @TracyBethHoeg discussed research indicating that the expected risks of COVID-19 boosters for university-age students outweighed their benefits--even under the best-case scenario for vaccine effectiveness.
I see we have reached the time of year when I advocate for making DST permanent and half of y’all yell at me 🦉🧐

During her talk at Rutgers, @TracyBethHoeg highlighted a scandal that has received no media attention. The FDA approved Avacopan (Tavneos) based on manipulated clinical trial data. The drug has been linked to 8 deaths. Just 18 days after Høeg moved to withdraw its approval, she was fired and the drug remains on the market.

I recently had lunch with a psychiatrist who told me he had treated what he called "hormone psychosis" in female-to-male transgender patients. He thought this might be one of the drivers of the surge in trans violence, but doctors are too scared to talk about it.
Perhaps the only downside of a truly amazing marriage in your 50s is the abiding fear (however small) that something could happen to your spouse.

The new information makes it clear virologists in Wuhan and the US were racing each other in 2019 to build a virus having the distinctive features of the virus that caused COVID…and Fauci--violating US policies enacted to prevent lab-generated pandemics--was funding them all.
Before COVID, an NIH lab chief proposed making a SARS-like bat virus better at infecting people
Newly released records show Vincent Munster suggested inserting a furin cleavage site and that his lab obtained unpublished SARS-related sequences.

Update! I am stuck on a screen (which I have reported to tech support) that LITERALLY wants me to list all the ways in which my colleagues are racist. “None of the above” is not an option. I will not be complying.
Current situation: completing a computer module mandated by the state of NJ (in their infinite wisdom) on implicit bias and “intersectionality.” In case anyone wants to come do target practice on my head 🫠
