I keep hearing the same defense: “The VA was going to make these changes anyway.” Maybe they were. But isn’t that exactly why veteran advocacy organizations exist? If the VA proposes reducing benefits, shouldn’t the organizations that represent veterans be fighting those changes instead of helping Congress write them into law? That’s the part I can’t get past. If your mission is to protect veterans, when did “they were going to do it anyway” become a reason to stop fighting? I genuinely want to understand the thought process because from the outside it feels like the people who were supposed to stand in front of veterans stepped aside instead. So I’m asking the question every Veteran should be asking whose bright idea was this? And at what point do you as organization admit you got this one wrong??l

Make this make sense @wwp or @theamericanlegion or @moaaofficial or @moph_national or any of the other VSOs supporting Take Care of America’s Veterans Act? If your advocacy starts by giving away veterans’ rights, it’s not advocacy anymore. Do Better! 👊🏻🇺🇸

The Take Care of America’s Veterans Act should take care of veterans without taking away future veterans’ ability to be compensated for injuries they receive in the line of duty. That’s the issue. This isn’t about opposing the bill. It’s about opposing the idea that future veterans should help pay for today’s promises. That’s a precedent we should never accept. If you’re a member of a veterans service organization, contact your leadership and tell them this isn’t the legacy you want to leave behind. We owe the next generation the same promise that was made to us, not a smaller one. 👊🏻🇺🇸

Every generation of veterans before us fought to leave the next generation with at least the same rights they inherited. We shouldn’t become the first generation that leaves less. Thank you to @iava @VFWHQ @DAVHQ for towing the line and protecting veteran benefits!! The organizations below support the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act, which includes a provision that would limit future compensation for certain service connected injuries sustained by future veterans. If you believe veteran advocacy means protecting veterans’ rights, not negotiating them away, contact your VSO today. Tell them future veterans, who are disproportionately the sons and daughters of military and veteran families, deserve the same commitment to protection that every generation before them received. Organizations supporting the bill: • The American Legion • Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) • Wounded Warrior Project • AMVETS • American Optometric Association • Avalon Action Alliance • Commissioned Officers Association of the USPHS • Elizabeth Dole Foundation • Gold Star Spouses of America • K9s For Warriors • Korean War Veterans Association • Military Chaplains Association • Military Order of the Purple Heart • Mission Roll Call • National Defense Committee • National Military Family Association • Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) • USCG Chief Petty Officers Association • Vietnam Veterans of America • Veterans Justice Alliance • Concerned Veterans for America

Veterans, it’s time to pay attention. Statistically, the next generation of veterans is more likely to come from our families than anyone else’s. That’s why I can’t support H.R. 9237 as it’s currently written. Here’s the part that matters: I would personally benefit if this bill passed. The Major Richard Star Act would change my family’s life. But I can’t ask the next generation of veterans to help pay for promises that should’ve been kept to my generation. Veterans didn’t send veterans to war. Politicians did. Time for them to stop complaining about the cost of the decisions. Enough is enough. Read more in this week’s article at The Seed and The Sword link is in my bio. open.substack.com/pub/ebdono…

I’m proud of our leaders for walking the walk.
This mission to arrest President Maduro was executed the way hard missions should be flawless and with precision. We should absolutely celebrate this win but we should also remember that wins like this always come with a hidden cost. You can learn more in today’s article The Right Call Still Comes with a Price in The Seed and The Sword.

24 years. The memories remain as vivid as if it were yesterday. The images, the heartbreak, the courage, all etched into our hearts forever. #NeverForget is not just a phrase. It’s a promise. A promise to honor the lives lost. A promise to carry forward the legacy of those who ran toward danger to save others. A promise to live in a way that reflects the very best of who we are. Today we remember every life taken too soon. We surround with love the families who still carry the weight of loss. We pray for those who are sick and suffering from the aftermath of that day. And tomorrow we rise. We stand together. We choose to serve, to love, and to live in a way that shows the world what light looks like in the face of darkness. “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

🙏 Please join me in lifting up Charlie Kirk, his family, and everyone at @TPUSA in prayer during what is surely one of the most difficult seasons of their lives. In moments of darkness, when evil seeks to silence or intimidate, we remember that God’s light shines brighter than any shadow. Violence, whether political or religious, will never overcome truth, faith, or love. Instead, it strengthens us. It deepens our trust in God. It reminds us that we are not alone, and that no weapon formed against us will prosper. To those who seek to divide with hatred: know this, your efforts only renew our commitment to stand firm in our beliefs, to cling even closer to God, and to walk boldly in His strength and peace. @charliekirk11 and his family: you are not alone. You are covered in prayer, surrounded by love, and upheld by the One who never fails. 🌟✝️ ✨ “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5

It’s not PTSD that’s killing veterans—it’s moral injury. I just launched The Weight We Carry, a national, no-cost event series confronting the soul wounds no one talks about. 📰 Press release: einpresswire.com/article/820…
Because talking about it might save a life.
