Wow. Albanians just set fire to the Supreme Court after it allowed Jared Kushner to buy land in the country against the their will.

Inside an ICE facility, women talked about the 911 calls that landed them there — from men who had beat them, choked them, threatened deportation. “I had suffered from domestic violence,” one woman said. “But the one who ended up in trouble was me.” propublica.org/article/domes…

“Monkeys” “Rapeable” “Fucking depot them, call ICE” This is what the LAPD recruiting dept was caught saying. Karen Bass’s police chief had the WHISTLEBLOWER ARRESTED. Why hasn’t Bass fired McDonnell?
Being new to LA isn’t the problem. Being unfamiliar with LA’s history and arrogant enough to explain it to everybody else is the problem. Nithya Raman said policing under Daryl Gates was the “gold standard” for LAPD. Daryl Gates was the LAPD Chief who militarized the department, led indiscriminate sweeps targeting Black communities, and cultivated the aggressive culture that led to the brutal beating of Rodney King. LA still lives with that harm. Leaders who don’t understand our history risk repeating it. Is this who you want in City Hall? Nithya treats protecting immigrant families and protecting Black Angelenos from police abuse as competing priorities. Our city must do both. I organized in South LA against the abuses of Gates’s LAPD, and I continue to stand up for immigrant families today.

For folks who don’t know these are just everyday folks who are tired and organized. They’re tired of their community being terrorized. They’re actually standing up against fascism. You can be part of things like this, too.
A victory for community defense: ICE agents in Ventura County, California were completely surrounded and confronted by furious community members and stopped from arresting a mother and father on their way to work, with their children in the back seat of their car. Dozens of community members had joined rapid responders from VC Defensa to push federal immigration officers out of the neighborhood on Monday evening. DHS continues to deny its 45-day Operation Safe California surge, which began on October 5 and has seen increased ICE presence in designated sanctuary cities and communities up and down the state’s coastline, with sources reporting that ICE agents were instructed to "go after anybody." Community defense organizations like VC Defensa have reported hundreds of detentions and arrests in the last week in the Central Valley and Southern California.

This right here is why an actually competent fascist government in 2028 or 2032 is basically a foregone conclusion.
JVL of The Bulwark: The things I like, you could round up all of the supporters in America and fit them in this room. What we'd prefer is a nice stable technocratic neoliberal consensus. Sarah Longwell: Really focuses on lowering the debt and going through educational reform

After losing in court, the City had agreed to turn over the records. The LAPD still refuses. Understand that my attorneys’ fees are $102,170 as of right now. The City (taxpayers) will have to pay that. The costs will increase in future court hearings.
Karen Bass’s LAPD is openly defying a judge’s order to turn over LAPD moonlighting documents. I believe these records will show LAPD officers are working for ICE contractors.

Oscar Bergal was shot by ICE in my district last Thursday, then pulled out of the hospital by ICE while still needing surgery. His lawyers say he’s in solitary with the bullet lodged in his neck, his face is numb, and he’s losing hearing in one ear. This is atrocious and inhumane, but it’s not a mistake. It’s yet another example of ICE working as designed. We don’t need another few years of broken safeguards. We need to abolish ICE.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

The ICE agent on the scene of the shooting in New York has repeatedly been accused in federal court of unlawful arrests and excessive force. He previously used a Taser 6 times on a handcuffed man and shoved a pregnant woman to the ground.
