I was thinking about getting a pulled pork sandwich today or maybe a brisket
I asked my wife for an open marriage because I wanted the freedom to sleep with other women without having to lie to her. I honestly thought she would never agree, so when she finally said yes, I was excited. What I didn't expect was how I would react when another man started giving my wife the same attention I wanted for myself.
My wife and I had been married for eight years, and we had two children. From the outside, we looked like a normal couple. We paid our bills, raised our children, attended family events together, and occasionally went on dates. But somewhere along the way, I started feeling like marriage had taken away too much of my freedom. I would see single men enjoying themselves, meeting different women, and travelling whenever they wanted, and I would wonder whether I had settled down too early.
At first, I kept those thoughts to myself. Then I started talking to my wife about how some couples were experimenting with open marriages. I told her that loving one person shouldn't necessarily mean losing the freedom to experience attraction to other people. She asked me whether I wanted to sleep with other women, and I told her the truth. I said I still loved her, but I wanted to explore other experiences without destroying our marriage.
She didn't shout or insult me. She simply asked me one question: "If I agree to this, are you prepared to watch another man treat me the way you want to treat other women?"
I told her that was different because I trusted her and knew she wouldn't do anything to threaten our family. Looking back, I realize I was already making excuses for why the rules should favour me.
For weeks, we discussed boundaries. Eventually, she agreed, provided that we both had exactly the same freedom and neither of us could secretly change the rules. I accepted because I was convinced I would be able to handle it.
A month later, I met a woman at a friend's birthday party. We exchanged numbers, started chatting, and eventually arranged to have dinner together. I told my wife before going, and although she looked uncomfortable, she didn't stop me.
When I returned home that evening, I couldn't stop smiling. The woman had complimented my appearance, laughed at my jokes, and made me feel exciting in a way I hadn't felt in years. My wife noticed my mood and asked whether I had enjoyed myself. I told her I had.
She simply nodded and went to bed.

Also, mentioning Louis CK? Congratulations, you just made a "home run" of a shitty reply.
Remark that nearly all German philosophers from Leibniz to Hegel considered Newton's physics a huge threat to be defeated urgently. Almost all ridiculed the idea that matter was made of atoms, and wrote polemics rejecting Newton. No one took them seriously until Maxwell & Faraday

This is no longer any fun. I recognise you, those who I have seen here for the best part of a decade, for what you are: dancing for mother's attention, as I. But mother is not coming, and she no longer finds it amusing, and she wants you to get a real job.
