While school libraries are often at the heart of reading culture, they're rarely working alone. English teachers, learning support teams, literacy coordinators, and EAL/ESOL staff all play an important role in helping students discover books and build confidence.

School libraries are about so much more than books. They are places of discovery, belonging, curiosity, and connection. And behind every thriving library is a librarian creating opportunities for students to read, explore, and grow.

Inclusive reading goes beyond simply providing access to books. It's about giving students the tools they need to engage with those books in ways that work for them. Because great stories should be accessible to everyone.

Building a reading culture takes time, but it's amazing what can happen when students are given access to books in formats that suit them. Seeing eBooks and Audiobooks become part of everyday school life is exactly why we do what we do.

Phonics support shouldn't stop after the early years. ❌👶 We created our new Teen Decodable Readers to give older students the structured literacy support they need, with the engaging, age-appropriate stories they actually want to read.

Long after students forget an assignment, they'll often remember a book. A story they loved. A character they connected with. A moment that changed the way they thought about something. You never know which book will make an impact, but that's what makes reading so powerful.

It was great to connect with so many educators and library teams last week 👋 We attended the Teacher Librarian Professional Learning Community Conference in Sydney, as well as the InterfaceExpo events in New Zealand. Thanks to everyone who stopped by for a chat!

A good book can take you anywhere. Into another world. Into someone else’s shoes. Into a new idea they hadn’t considered before. The more accessible reading becomes, the more students get the chance to discover where a story can take them.

The SLA Annual Conference is a standout event for the school library community. We’re looking forward to exhibiting, connecting with school librarians from across the UK, and joining conversations around this year’s theme, Changing Narratives. sla.org.uk/conference

Learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. 💙 From morning commutes to reading time, eBooks and Audiobooks help students build reading habits that fit naturally into their day. Proud to support schools with a platform shaped by librarians, teachers, and students.
