The 'F' stands for Findable! 🔎 Keeping data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) ensures that it remains valuable and usable across different systems and users. Here are some tips to ensure your data is findable! ✅ Use Persistent Identifiers (PIDs): Assign unique DOIs, handles, or UUIDs to datasets. ✅ Rich Metadata: Describe data with structured, standardized metadata for easy discovery. ✅ Indexing & Cataloging: Store data in searchable repositories with proper indexing. ✅ Consistent Naming Conventions: Use clear and descriptive file names and folder structures. #PSDI #Data #DataManagement #FAIRData #FindYourData

#DidYouKnow our body 'eats' itself to stay healthy? Our cells break down and recycle their own contents in a process called autophagy. In the 90s, Yoshinori Ohsumi discovered how autophagy worked, helping us understand how it protects our body against disease.

“Doing science is a natural human instinct.” According to medicine laureate Victor Ambros all kids are scientists as they all test limits. He shared his thoughts with students taking part in a 'Help a scientist' event at the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm, Sweden. Doing science is a natural human instinct and is not something that we humans have invented, Ambros explained. “What we need is a systems approach. One that involves interdisciplinarity and cohesion and engaging everybody. For change to be massively deployed, we need the critical mass of scientists, of stakeholders, and of policymakers”. Phoebe Koundouri @AUEB.

This year’s chemistry laureates Demis Hassabis and John Jumper have developed an AI model, AlphaFold2, to solve a 50-year-old problem: predicting proteins’ complex structures. Check out two examples of protein structures determined using AlphaFold2. First up, a bacterial enzyme that causes antibiotic resistance. The structure is important for discovering ways of preventing antibiotic resistance. Animation: ©Terezia Kovalova/The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences #NobelPrize
