1/ Since a lot of people are waking up to see their perps positions closed and wondering what the hell “Auto-Deleveraging” means, here’s a quick and dirty primer. What is ADL? How does it work? And why does it exist?

As an ex-Move engineer, the Move-VM ecosystem frustrated me after two years of building and I decided to leave. Here's why: 1. Move is not a single smart contract language, but a family of languages and VM designs originated from Diem but diverged significantly as companies like @Aptos @SuiNetwork @movementlabsxyz build their own versions 2. That means the friction that developers meet transitioning from one Move chain to another is incredibly high. Each chain is a siloed ecosystem with its unique VM and toolkits. In the early days of EVM L2s, we already saw examples that 1% disparity of VM can lead to bad experiences and even security breaches. The disparity between Move chains are so large (and continue to grow as protocols release new features!) that they are almost different languages. No efforts have been made to reduce the disparity 3. Move projects typically market Move as an ultra-secure language. However, since Move is not a single language, what should really be discussed is the security of Aptos-Move / Sui-Move / xyz-Move. A language is secure only if the protocol implementation is secure. For example, @zellic_io once found a bug in Sui Move that could cause billions at risk zellic.io/blog/the-billion-d… 4. Interestingly, the above-mentioned bug also existed in Aptos but Aptos Labs declined the bug bounty to Zellic, citing the context that the vulnerability was discovered in Sui. 5. A smart contract is never secure if the privileged admin keys are leaked. Contrary to Solidity contracts where people would typically question the necessity of making a contract upgradeable, Move contracts are admin-upgradeable by default. 6. Although there is an option to make contracts immutable, it is required that an immutable contract cannot depend on a mutable one. For example, if you want to call an external oracle which is upgradeable, your own contract must be upgradeable as well. 7. I also want to mention other points like (1) Permission of wallet signer is too large. Any wallet can be drained by signing 1 txn (2) Lack of smart contract verification on block explorers (3) Lack of high-quality production-ready code examples for new devs to onboard (4) High costs of auditing especially when formal verification is involved

Is $SOL inflationary or deflationary? When we go deflationary it means that $SOL prices will naturally climb, ceteris paribus. I explain fundamental concepts, and dive into the data with sauces attached. 1/

I'm seeing quite a number of folks referencing this paper eprint.iacr.org/2023/1472.pd… on "Naysayer proofs" to me recently. While the idea is neat and the concrete applications are clear, the main theoretical result of the paper seems to contain lots of ambiguities (if not straight up errors?). Could someone familiar with the work answer my questions below? @Istvan_A_Seres @josephbonneau 1. What is exactly the proposed naysayer proof system in the proof of Thm 1 (per Def 2 of Sec 3.2)? 2. Def 2 says a naysayer proof is defined against a NI proof system. How is Thm 1 quantifying over the NI proof system? 3. How is the proof constant-sized when specifying a gate index is logarithmic in the size of the circuit? (Asking publicly here so I can forward any answers to people that have asked me about it.)

Polymarket is predicting that blobs (~125 kB) will cost ~0.001 ETH. Today, 125 kB calldata costs ~30 gwei per gas * 16 gas per byte * 125000 gas ~= 0.06 ETH And if you think polymarket's guess that blobs will be 60x cheaper is over-optimistic, you can use the market to hedge!

Leaving your TradFi job to become a professional crypto trader is literally the stupidest fucking thing you could possibly do. If you are watching crypto prices rocket and thinking about doing it, just stop and go touch some grass. Here is the cold hard math: 🧵👇

1) TL;DR: If you have deposited to Tornado Cash using IPFS gateways ( like ipfs.io, cf-ipfs.com, eth.link ), your note would likely be exposed and the deposited funds are at risk. gas404.medium.com/tornado-ca…
It looks like some Tornado Cash UIs (eg tornadocash.eth.link) inject malicious code for 100 ETH deposits. Also, there are some suspicious proposals: - tornadocash.eth.link/governa… - tornadocash.eth.link/governa… Investigation ongoing.

I am so excited to announce the CAKE Working Group! frontier.tech/cake-working-g… The CAKE framework represents the completion of my contributions to Ethereum since I began in 2017. I cannot wait to unleash the power of chain abstraction upon the world. The CAKE is real 🎂👨🏼‍🍳 Many in this space know me for my work as the Co-Founder and Chief Architect of Flashbots where I put forward the MEV Supply Chain and designed MEV-Boost. However, my work on Ethereum did not start with MEV. What always drew me to Ethereum and Web3 is the promise of developing tools which lower the cost of human coordination. Culture has long been the key technology to achieve this, and with blockchains, we have a way to scale coordination across cultures. It is evident to me that this can only be achieved at a world scale once it becomes easier to develop and use a web3 application as it is to develop and use a web2 application.
We are excited to announce the CAKE working group! Ethereum and the broader web3 ecosystem are moving fast toward a multi-chain future. More and more users are interacting with apps on multiple chains and are looking for a seamless way to perform actions across multiple execution environments. frontier.tech/cake-working-g…
