More sessions coming up at Parent Carers Cornwall - incredibly they are able to provide these to people for free, this is a rare thing, something we have got used to down here, but something which will be ending soon, so take advantage of it whilst it lasts.

Exactly this…there is not enough specialist provision as is and inclusion in mainstream will need fundamental change to the education system (as well as huge investment).

Unpaid carers have their allowance taken from them when in hospital caring but they are still caring
Why not ask hospitals to sign a form saying “relative remained in situ caring over 35 hrs a wk” “we didn’t have the skill to provide the care the person needed

Some children with #EHCPs are placed in independent schools as it is deemed the only suitable provision. Adding #SchoolFeeVAT (& even worse #learningsupport #VAT) this option is being removed for children with #SEND that do not have an EHCP. Why? @bphillipsonMP @RichardFoordLD
Please also discuss the implications of the new #schoolfeeVAT on children with #SEND. Education should not be taxed and even worse is to add VAT to learning support for children with SEND. They are saving LAs a lot of money by being educated outside of the state system.

🧵The @ChildrensComm (@Rachel_deSouza) spoke out against @UKLabour's Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill but said *nothing* about their divisive #SchoolFeeVAT that is forcing kids from their schools and facing threats. Does she truly stand for "ALL" children?
@EducationNotTax have written to her office multiple times, as have individual *children*. No response.

I was surprised yesterday when lawyer Starmer used loose language like "loners and misfits" in connection with violent crimes and sure enough we see headlines today like "War on 'Misfits'" which can endanger the neurodivergent and those with mental health issues.#r4today
