A significant issue I have with democracy in countries such as Nigeria is that brain-dead individuals outnumber reasonable ones.
Unpopular opinion, the world needs more people who can hold a conversation without saying “lol” every three words.
When the people around you are accustomed to having unlimited access to your time and emotional energy, even a reasonable boundary can feel like rejection to them.
