Who'd be an MP? My huge respect to anyone who puts up with the abuse, pressure and workload which seems to be par for the course. We need to think about how to ensure that public life doesn't repel the best and brightest. For now, we should be grateful for those it attracts.

I obviously have professional suspicions towards think tanks behind this government given they claim to be free traders, sometimes trade experts, but supported the greatest rise in trade barriers by a developed country in modern times. Growth does not seem to be their motivation.

With direct lies like this in our media it is little surprise that the UK is broken. The public deserve protection against this sort of misinformation and disinformation.

Stephen Glover has the grace to praise BBC, but newspaper people, of which I was one, fail to understand that the Beeb unifies us all the time, every day - it the press which tears us apart with lies and dogma.

Tremendous resignation speech from @BorisJohnson rich with dignity and grace. For anyone who missed it and doesn’t have the time to listen to it in its entirety, I’ll paraphrase:
“I’m amazing. You all still love me. My party are a bunch of back-stabbing cunts.”

The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do the math on investing in better mobility.
Let’s be clear — it wastes public money to NOT do it.

A perfect example of how farm animals are mistreated in today’s industrial, apathetic system:
This calf has a device that prevents him from getting milk from his mother. 😡 The frustration he feels is palpable. 💔

Asking someone to have a test before going to a big event = Nazi authoritarianism.
Removing people's citizenship w/o informing them and banning peaceful protest = sensible strong government.
These people have ventured into a land far beyond logic.

A parliamentarian scandalised by babies and the call for maternity leave for MPs? A sign of privilege that will make us seem out of touch? You are going to do your nut when you see what the Australians - that bastion of wokeness - is doing…. #21stCenturyCalling 🙄🤷♀️🤪
