Conditionals govern your code if this, then that. But the most important conditional isn't in your functions. It's in your interactions. If you cannot offer tenderness, at minimum withhold harm. The developer who dismisses a colleague's question. The rancher who sharpens words instead of listening to the neighbor. The trader who responds to loss with blame, not inquiry. The syntax is simple. The execution is not. Kindness isn't a feature you deploy when convenient. It's a default branch you return to when you can't do anything else. The easiest code to write is the one that does no damage. It costs nothing and returns everything.
