Join us on board for a fun day out on the rails on board our heritage carriages hauled by an Irish Rail heritage diesel locomotive as we travel to the historic medieval City of Kilkenny.3 hours in Kilkenny
Alighting in Kilkenny at 12:25 passengers will have over 3 and a half hours to explore the town enjoying the many shops, cafés, restaurants and bars the town has to offer. Maybe even a visit to the magnificent Castle.
Our return departure from Kilkenny will be at 16:00
The route to Kilkenny will take us from Dublin Connolly, through the Phoenix Park tunnel. Then onto the Cork mainline out of Dublin.passing through the Curragh of Kildare. We will then turn left and take the line to Kilkenny, passing through Carlow, crossing the River Barrow

Saturday was a fantastic day for Dublin Operations as Driver Keith Doyle, Heuston Station, Dublin was passed out as a Steam Fireman by Steve Chipperfield, Inspector at West Coast Railways UK.

History was made yesterday when retro General Motors 071 Diesel Loco. worked the first locomotive hauled train to the new platform 3 in Galway Railway Station.

The route to Wexford will take us along arguably Ireland's most scenic railway line - the sunny south-east from Dublin to Wexford, a route offering views of tunnels, cliffsides, beaches, forests.
