We fully support the statements of the AFP and the Department of National Defense on today’s violent assault by China Coast Guard personnel against a Philippine Navy sailor near BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal. Striking an unarmed sailor on the head with a baton — inside our own exclusive economic zone — is not law enforcement. It is unlawful aggression, plain and simple. Ayungin Shoal lies well within the Philippine EEZ. Under UNCLOS and the final and binding 2016 Arbitral Award, our rights there are settled. No amount of coercion, violence, or deception can change that. We salute the professionalism and restraint of our Navy personnel, and we wish our injured sailor a swift recovery. We will continue to sail alongside the AFP in defense of what is lawfully ours.

So my take is that China's original plan was to launch SLBM from South China Sea, but they just couldn't help themselves from provoking and trolling Japan by issuing additional NOTAMs within Japanese waters, pretending it was a backup plan, just to stir things up for fun.

Taiwan confirms JL-2 was launched from South China Sea, not Bohai Sea as first thought.
The #PRC tested a JL2 #SLBM flying over the #Philippines moments ago. It’s a provocation that destabilizes the #IndoPacific. #China just proved itself again to be a bully on the block.

Is there any confirmation that China's SLBM was launched from the Bohai Sea? Japan said it didn't record any overflights of its airspace, leaving open the possibility of a South China Sea launch.

It's possible that China launched up to 2 ballistic missiles into a Pacific target area this morning, one from the South China Sea and one from the Bohai Sea. Or at the least, they were prepared to, based on navigational warnings.

🚨 SEALIGHT EXCLUSIVE: Commercial satellite imagery shows the "possible structure" at #ScarboroughShoal referenced over the weekend by 🇵🇭Philippine Defense Secretary Gibo Teodoro On 30 May while at the Shangri-La Dialogue, Secretary Teodoro said the #Philippines is reviewing “raw information” about possible new structures placed by 🇨🇳#China at Scarborough Shoal (Bajo de Masinloc), emphasizing that the information is still being verified, while warning that the Philippines remains under “severe threat” from Chinese activities in the area. Now #SeaLight has obtained commercial satellite imagery captured on 28 May 2026 by @Satellogic via our imagery partners at @SkyfiApp, showing the southern entrance to Scarborough Shoal’s lagoon. The inset is a magnified crop of the same scene. At the tip of the southern reef rim, the imagery reveals a small, reflective object clearly distinguishable on the reef flat near the lagoon entrance. SeaLight has also reviewed additional commercial satellite imagery from 26 May 2026 showing an object in the same location. (Due to licensing restrictions, that imagery cannot yet be released publicly.) Because the object is visible in imagery from at least 26–28 May 2026, the evidence suggests it is a persistent feature rather than a transient optical artifact. Based on the resolution of the commercial imagery and the object’s appearance relative to the surrounding reef, we assess that it is (conservatively) less than 10 meters in diameter. Its location is at or near the lagoon entrance, a sensitive chokepoint where access has previously been controlled by vessels and floating barriers. We cannot yet determine conclusively whether this is a fixed structure, a reef‑mounted marker, a buoy‑type device, a monitoring instrument or another type of object. SeaLight Director Ray Powell (@GordianKnotRay): "If this object is confirmed to be a fixed installation, it would raise questions about compliance with the 2002 Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, which calls for self‑restraint and avoiding actions that complicate disputes or alter the status quo on contested, uninhabited features. Moreover, history shows that small structures on previously uninhabited features are rarely endpoints for China. If so, this would mark a serious new step at an especially sensitive location for the Philippines."

🚨 HAPPENING NOW — 1st-ever US Coast Guard-Philippine Coast Guard joint patrol challenging PRC's exclusion zone at Scarborough Shoal 🇺🇸🇵🇭 For what appears to be the 1st time, a @USCG cutter is operating directly alongside the @coastguardph in a joint presence operation challenging Beijing's exclusion zone around #ScarboroughShoal (Bajo de Masinloc). 🛰️ Automatic Identification System tracking data from @StarboardIntel shows the USCG cutter Midgett sortieing from Manila Bay on 28 May alongside PCG cutter BRP Melchora Aquino & taking station on the western approaches to the shoal starting yesterday, 29 May and holding roughly 35-40 nm out. 🇵🇭 Also visible in the operation are PCG patrol vessel BRP Cabra & Bureau of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources BRP Datu Pagbuaya (now returning to Manila Bay, followed closely by CCG 21563). History suggests others may also be involved but operating "AIS-dark". 🇨🇳 Arrayed against them is a layered Chinese paramilitary cordon: at least 9 CCG cutters are visible on AIS forming an outer picket line 20-40nm from the shoal, while at least 7 large militia vessels are visible forming an inner cordon 5-17nm out. 🇨🇳 Past experience strongly suggests PLA Navy vessels (not visible on AIS) are also in the area, but will likely keep their distance to ensure no repeats of the disastrous 11 August 2025 "friendly fire" collision near Scarborough. 🤝 This direct involvement by the USCG in a Philippine challenge to China's maritime aggression inside the West Philippine Sea is a significant step forward for the alliance. 🎩 Hat-tip: thanks to friend-of-SeaLight @supbrow for tipping this to @GordianKnotRay!

By unblocking internet access, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian wants to weaponize public opinion against the IRGC. No wonder the Guard and its allies did everything they could to stop it.

If Trump was really denied UFO secrets by CIA, just like the presidents before him, wouldn't that mean guys like Putin and Xi have a better idea of what's going on?

Nikita Bier is the most overrated and incompetent head of product I’ve seen in decades. Stop all the boasting and experimenting, and focus on foundational development and long-term architecture, dude!

It’s because Chinese AI firms were buying Planet imagery to track US assets, you idiot.
Planet Labs is withholding satellite images at the request of the Trump administration. Other countries have real-time updates. American voters are being denied access to information that people in China have. Why?

Fox News can confirm that the 2nd crew member of the downed F15E fighter jet has been rescued and he and the members of the rescue team that extracted him from behind enemy lines in Iran are all safely out of Iran. That according to two senior US officials and multiple well placed sources in the region. The Weapons Systems Officer ejected along with the pilot when their F15E Strike Eagle they were flying was struck Thursday night (early Friday local time) in southwest Iran.  The WSO used the SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) training to evade capture, hiding on an elevated ridge after hiking away from the wreckage and putting out an emergency beacon.) US Special Operations rescue forces to include PJs (United States Air Force Pararescuemen (PJs) and many layers of elite rescue forces took part in the complex, layered mission to both find the crew member and also keep the Iranian forces who were hunting the American weapons system operator at bay. There are videos that have appeared from local eyewitnesses that show what appear to have been  injured and dead Iranian members of the IRGC and Basij who were looking for the downed American crew member. Fox has learned there was fighting on the ground but no Americans killed during the operation. “It was a very complex operation to retrieve the downed service member,” a well placed source briefed on the operation told me. Many different branches of the US military were involved in the rescue. Fox News can confirm the A10 Warthog that crashed Friday was involved in providing cover for the rescue teams searching for the pilot. That A10 crashed in Kuwait (first reported by ABC Friday) but the A10 pilot managed to eject safely and was rescued. There was destruction of aircraft which have sensitive equipment on board, I am told, all part of this complex CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue) mission. The F15E was pretty much destroyed on impact. Two rescue helicopters were hit by enemy fire on  Friday and crew members onboard were injured by enemy fire but managed to make it out of Iran. There were a lot of elements to this rescue, I am told.
2nd American F15E crew member rescued and safe after complex rescue operation that began Friday morning, two senior US officials confirm to me.

New Super-Battleship Under Construction In China 🇨🇳 As the U.S. Navy debates the future of ‘Trump-class’ battleships, other navies are advancing their own visions of ultra-large surface combatants. New evidence reveals that China is constructing an even larger design, signalling a shift in naval priorities. navalnews.com/naval-news/202…
