Aah there was Ekadashi too. How could I forget? 😀 I remember all her fasts used to last well over 24 hours. No food, no water. I mean why on earth. Guess u r right...the no water rule makes it tougher. But seriously, all of this must be very tough. Respect. 😄☺️

Wow this reminded me of all the fasts my mother used to keep, all very punishing. 🙆
Here’s a small/big update from me.
I am delighted to tell you that today marks the launch of my podcast, ‘DialogueWithDT’. This is where I have conversations with startup founders, wealth managers, investors, market experts, policymakers, and achievers who will help us connect the dots and simplify the world around us.
As India grows, gets richer, and reclaims what was always hers, her people need to get better at managing their money, security, and risks. This podcast is an honest attempt at helping all of us here do that.
I will welcome feedback. You can be nasty, kind or helpful. Feel free to DM.
I also look forward to ideas and offers for collaboration.
You can also mail me at dt@dialoguewithdt.com
In my first episode, I sit down with @gutgutia , the founder of Right2Vote, a Mumbai-based startup that conducts online voting for various corporates, institutions like @theicai , and various citizen bodies.
Neeraj talks about the future and 'inevitability' of mobile-based voting in India, stressing that it will boost voting percentage and be truly representative of a vibrant democracy. In his words, it's India's Gen Z who will ask for mobile voting in the country.

Whole lot of pain, and I really hope somebody in @PMOIndia is reading it and working to act on it. High time. @nsitharaman @nsitharamanoffc
The Risk Of Irrelevance !
Akash Prakash writes in the @bsindia
The good news before all the bad news - Akash believes all this data is more a contrarian indicator & not a reason to turn more negative on India.
Read on - from the column 👇
1. "At only 10%, we are half what we used to be and three countries — Taiwan, Korea and China — are 70% of the EM index. Do you really need to bother with India? Even getting India wrong will not really move the needle. Over the last 10 years, India has anyway underperformed the EM indices by about 180 basis points annually. Even on a 20-year basis, India has just marginally outperformed"
2. "Second, many investors have come to the conclusion that India may not deliver enough absolute returns. Their calculations are as follows: The Nifty index in rupees has delivered about 10.5% p.a. over the last 20 years. Assuming a capital gains tax impact of about 15%, this brings the return down to about 8.9%. Then, assuming a near 4% rupee depreciation (the average over the last 20 years), this brings the return down to about 6% in dollar terms"
3. "All allocators are upset about the capital gains tax. They do not pay these taxes in any other major jurisdiction. It drops projected long-term annualised returns by about 2% & that is a huge difference when comparing countries over long holding periods."
4. "India is also seen as the biggest global loser from artificial intelligence (AI), as our key advantages of demographics and a skilled white-collar workforce lose relevance in an AI-first world."
5. "India is also caught in a no-man's land, not cheap enough for value investors to pile in but not growing fast enough to attract growth investors either."

Something so utopian about that world. Its Waiting for Godot. Utopia never comes. Like Munger said and I paraphrase, 'Before u want something, u have to deserve it'. So just go out, work hard, don't whine, make your money, enjoy your life and never play victimhood.

Informative. I am surprised though given it's Toyota. My Vitara hybrid gives me 23 with AC in city. Company claims 27. I'd say not bad.

If a dog bites then next steps:
Dog bite. Vaccination status unknown. Treat it as rabies exposure until proven otherwise.
1) Start with the wound. Immediately.
•Wash under running water + soap for at least 15 minutes
•Do not be gentle. Mechanical washing saves lives
•Apply povidone-iodine or chlorhexidine after washing
•Avoid tight suturing unless necessary (and preferably delayed)
2) Assess exposure (this decides urgency)
Category II – scratches, minor bites without bleeding
Category III – bites that break skin, bleeding, saliva on mucosa
Unknown dog = assume Category III if any doubt
3) Rabies prophylaxis (do not delay)
Rabies vaccine (PEP)
Start immediately, day 0.
Common schedule:
•Day 0, 3, 7, 14 (± day 28 depending on protocol)
Do not wait for symptoms.
Once symptoms appear, rabies is almost always fatal.
Rabies Immunoglobulin (RIG) : for Category III
•Infiltrate into and around the wound
•Any remaining volume IM at a distant site
•Given once, on day 0
This provides immediate passive immunity while vaccine builds response.
4) Tetanus prophylaxis
•Give tetanus toxoid if not up to date
•Add tetanus immunoglobulin if high-risk wound and uncertain history
5) Antibiotics (dog bites are dirty wounds)
Common choice:
•Amoxicillin-clavulanate
Covers:
•Pasteurella
•anaerobes
•skin flora
6) Observe the dog (if possible)
•If the dog remains healthy for 10 days, rabies risk is low
•If the dog becomes ill or dies → continue full treatment without hesitation
7) What NOT to do
•Do not ignore “small” bites
•Do not rely on home remedies
•Do not delay vaccine waiting for lab confirmation
Bottom line
In suspected rabies exposure,
time = survival.
Wash aggressively.
Start vaccine immediately.
Add immunoglobulin when indicated.
Everything else is secondary.
Rubio is among the more affable in the Trump administration. Carries a positive demeanour, doesn't talk down (much). Has a 'I mean business' look, and that's not always bad.
