It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

Omg you guys, it's true. Ilhan Omar came here on a student visa, then quit school and just started working. Total immigration fraud, blatant.
Oh wait, that wasn't Ilhan, that was Elon.

Let’s just be honest here: Donald Trump has zero interest in improving the lives of Black folks in this country and has never been serious about helping our community.
In policy, deed, action and rhetoric, he has proven this repeatedly. Just last week, his administration launched an investigation into the programs Wells Fargo instituted a decade to increase Black home ownership. Does that sound like someone who is open to changing course about how he has treated our community?
His nonstop attack on DEI programs, federal budget cuts that had a disproportionate impact on Black federal workers, censorship of Black history or outright removal of Black historic figures, cuts to Medicaid, Medicare and SNAP — does any of that sound like someone who is willing to change their approach?
He got exactly what he wanted out of this dinner. He ran right to the media to brag about how much celebrities like him. He wanted to prove his power and how much people are dying to have access to him.
Congratulations, he did exactly that.
How many times are y’all going to fall for the banana in the tailpipe?
I totally agree. Our people in the Black community are out here suffering. Why wouldn’t we have a conversation with the people in power?
Everything I’ve gotten done for my community has come from being able to talk to Democrats AND Republicans. You have to be willing to sit at the table and ask for what your people need.
Having a conversation with @POTUS45 doesn’t mean you agree with everything he says or does. It means you’re bringing your community’s needs directly to the person who has the power to help. Our people deserve resources, answers, and results.

Tuned into latest Nikke drama and the statement "SKK is a creep" is so inaccurate that I need to yap:
Early game its established Nikkes arent seen as people, they are seen as objects to serve humans. SKK is one of the very few people who detests this and wants to liberate the Nikkes. So they have their own freedom of choice.
His resolve in this ideal earns the trust of Pioneer who have already been betrayed by humanity. It impresses Johan and Cecil who were betrayed by the ark and want nothing to do with it. It even won Anis over who was abused heavily by the Ark and its people.
So dedicated to this path, he refused to give up on Dorothy. Who had already given up on herself. When everyone else gave up on allying with the four beasts, SKK kept trying and eventually succeeded. Liberalio herself, a heretic who hates humans and Nikke alike, was so impressed with SKKs resolve and sees the results of it, she tried to convince the Queen of the raptures in his vision.
Even the prologue hammers it home that SKK didnt need to give a bandage to Matian. Yet it was so humanizing for her that it sticks with her for the rest of the game
SKK is one of the most respectful people to Nikkes. When Velvet is throwing herself at him, he still tries to do things the chivalrous way until she spells it out for him she wants the SKK 10 inches of liberation.
Sure he finds Nikkes attractive. He loves maid and bunny Nikke. Yet while he does have lust for Nikke, he never crosses a boundary they dont want to cross. Many of them advance onto him.
His respect for Nikke is so deep that he earns the trust of Nikkes. Hes handsome as well, but thats a bonus, he earns their affection. He earns their loyalty through his actions.
Bro never gets a day to relax coz a dufferent Nikke is always needing his help. For they know he will give them 100% of his time and effort. Its also why one of the few times he was so busy he couldn't help Yuni, it broke her. Coz no one else would.
So when I see the statement SKK is a creep, its so inaccurate to his entire character, I encourage those people to actually read the dialogue of the game. Its there for everyone to read.
Forgive me for the lengthy rant, felt the need to defend my boi SKK
P.S - Grave wouldnt actively play wingman for Cinderella to a creep. She trusts him immensely.
