On September 10, 2001, I went out to watch Monday Night Football in NYC. I stayed out too late, slept through my alarm the next morning, and rushed to catch the 4 Train to @JPMorgan. What happened next has stayed with me ever since. #NeverForget

The group demanding a billionaire tax is burning union money on luxury hotels, beachfront retreats, and a $235,000 breathing coach.
But don’t worry. Once they get their hands on even more money, I’m sure they’ll become extremely responsible.

When we started @GrowSF, our plan had two steps: build a pro-growth majority on the Board of Supervisors, then reform how San Francisco is governed.
We accomplished step one in 2024. This November, we can pass charter amendments and lock in lasting change for decades.
This November, we can rewrite the rules holding San Francisco back.
We just launched our $2.6 million campaign to give Mayor Lurie a supportive Board of Supervisors and pass common-sense reforms for safer streets, more homes, and a government that works.

Americans want to own homes, build wealth, and have economic opportunity. So some are voting for socialists like Mamdani because he has recognized these anxieties and identified a villain (but not a real solution).
What is most likely to help?
Socialism consistently makes everyone equally poor. The experiment has been run already! You don’t build prosperity by attacking the entrepreneurs, businesspeople, or investors who create it. We do not want to be Maoist China, the Soviet Union, Venezuela, Cuba, East Germany, North Korea. This is a very bad club of outcomes.
The next decade will create more business owners than the last century. AI gives anyone with entrepreneurial spirit cheap access to extraordinary human capital. Reindustrialization will bring back productive work. Broad asset ownership can put millions more Americans on the path to wealth. And every dollar will go further as economic productivity surges.
Ordinary Americans will suffer if irresponsible politicians, educators and malicious international influence campaigns create 100M Marxists. It will prosper with 100M more Bogleheads.
We can be a nation of wealthy owners.
Now he has red lines. After the NYT, he shows up in support. All of this was known since that story, but Platner’s dropping in the polls, that was new. And this is the guy lecturing us about ethics every day.
Let’s start by unionizing golf course workers. Comrades, the oppression of golf professionals has gone on too long and been a national disaster. Union now (and lets start in Ohio)
All the good comrades own a golf course or two.

the destruction of American education over the past decade is an incredible self-own
competence is objective. a child can either do the math or they can’t. but in the u.s., a lot of people have reasons not to say that!
parents don’t want to hear their kid is struggling. teachers don’t want scores used to manage them. districts don’t want embarrassment. progressives worry accountability will create inequity. conservatives don’t want federal authorities. so we end up with process, weak standards, and excuses to explain away bad outcomes.
people object that it’s phones, covid, demographic change.
ok! but we fail globally when others have phones, covid too — vietnam is much poorer than the u.s., yet performs well in international math comparisons. some countries treat math as a basic skill everyone needs to master. here, it is part of a fight about fairness, autonomy, and feelings
in the age of AI — if people can’t do basic math, read closely, or think through problems, ai won’t make them more capable. it will become something they rely on without understanding. the countries that come out ahead in the global race won’t just have better technology. they’ll have people who know how to use it, question it, build on it. we need the national ability to decide something is worth doing coherently (teaching math!)
the US has the money to teach math well but it has not shown the will. we are failing the next generation
I love this. Epstein class himself.
NEW: @FreeBeacon has the receipts on Ro Khanna’s obscene, oligarchic wealth:
—his 2 kids (under 10yrs old) own 3 private golf courses in Ohio (not kidding)
—his wife drives a $190,000 luxury Range Rover
—his house has a 4-story indoor elevator

Charlie Munger’s response on type of person one should avoid becoming :
“You don’t want to be like the motion picture executive in California whose funeral was so large because everyone wanted to make sure he was dead.” 😂
“Similar story when the minister said at a funeral - Won’t anybody stand up and say a good word about the deceased? and one guy said: Well his brother was worse.”😂

It must be a relief to be Ro Khanna in 2026. All these years being the kind of guy who wants to respond to antisemitic harassment by using it as an opportunity to peddle his own pet legislation, but never having the balls to do it until now.
Finally unleashed. Being himself.
There is no place for harrasment or physical violence in our democracy. I am a strong supporter of protest, dissent, & free expression. But not of intimidation.
What happened to @Scott_Wiener was simply wrong.
Let's focus on passing @RepThomasMassie amendment to zero aid to Israel. Hold elected officials accountable. But do so in the spirit of building a politics of conviction and dignity, not insult and aggression.
The most upset people with billionaires seem to be multimillionaires. It is like the most blatant tell when I hear successful people complaining about billionaires.

I've been sounding the alarm about Third-Worldism and decolonial ideology for over a year now. Antisemitism and anti-Zionism are proxies for anti-Americanism. The point was never really the Third World itself so much as how invoking it becomes a way to contest American power. When fatigue over identity politics sets in, foreign conflicts become natural vehicles for political mobilization.

One of the major problems with Trump has always been what horrors come AFTER him. I, and many others I know (not a unique insight of mine), have been worried about this since 2016. Trump has been a problem in so many ways. The now far further to the left (on socialism and anti-semitism) nuts in the democratic party running everything after him is doom, and Trump’s extremeness has opened the door to them.
Trump has allowed the left, through many actually terrible actions of his (law-fare for pure personal revenge, making republicans sign on to the litmus test lie that 2020 election was stolen, epic familial corruption making Hunter Biden look like a rank amateur) and yes also through an awful lot of unfair TDS (sometimes he really is joking and they pretend not to know, and many times they just make stuff up as they hate him — see “good people on both sides”), to move further and further to jew-hating socialism and soon communism. Yeah, some pedantic twit will always say “its not real communism you need to read the definitions like us learned ivy league idiots have, blah blah blah means of production blah blah blah” as they intellectually bully those who are actually correct in all practicality — the DSA is not yet openly proposing all of Cuban communism now, but if you doubt that this is the DSA’s end goal you have paid no attention, and controlling the means of production through regulation and taxation is, in fact, owning the means of production. Did I mention the jew-hating? Yes the right also has an insane broken jew-hating problem too, you know Tucker, and darling Nicky F, and Candace the special, and many others; but there’s great dispute about it intra-party on the right where on the left repeating the outright provable lies about genocide and apartheid is now a full on litmus test for a dem primary with little to no allowable dissension). Trump makes dissent about lies like the 2020 election punishable by excommunication. That’s gross. The left does the same thing with even more consequential lies and blood libels that have been disproven in the extreme. Then they repeat their lies over and over and use their ubiquitousness as some kind of polling proof that they’re true.
Hating and opposing Trump (have you seen their cookie cutter commercials? — every pissant dem candidate now just brags about “taking on Trump” which they generally did only in rhetoric filmed for TV) has become all they need to do while slipping in the the DSA/jew-hating horrific policies they want to install, and for many have always wanted to install but now see an opportunity.
For some on the left Trump hate been being sufficient for them to let them to be their disgusting (yes DSA socialism and jew-hate is disgusting) selves. For some, and I don’t know which is worse, they’ve just seen where their party is going and are joining the commie jew-hating marching band for their career advancement (e.g., Brad Lander is out front twirling his baton as he pulls gold teeth). Either way it appears to now be death in a dem primary to say “Hey maybe a giant wealth tax is a bad idea as there is zero evidence that this is our problem and everything we say about the rich not paying taxes is a lie” or “Hey, you know, all the evidence is that Israel is fighting as humane a war as any in history. What we or any western european country would’ve done to Palestinian civilians would’ve been way worse if Hamas killed as much of our population as they did of Israel’s and hid behind them — check out the allies bombing in WWII, and I don’t just mean Dresden, I mean allied bombing French civilians in Normandy during D-day in devastating manner, with pre-calculated giant casualty estimates (Google “transportation plan WWII”) sanctioned by de Gaulle who saw it had to be done becausnevil nazis were embedded amongst them — sound familiar? — war offers horrific choices but choices that nearly all others in similar situations have made way harsher than Israel.
For all those who believe that the media is capable of policing itself, you can read the NYT investigation into Diana Russini. It does not really disclose new facts, really explain the actions of the NYT. It simply seeks to reinforce the we did nothing wrong narrative.
Most of my friends in Paris/London have a distorted view of the US, and sometimes a weird superiority complex.
They think only the top 1% lives well and everyone else is trapped in social collapse (guns, healthcare horror stories, obesity, politics, LA homelessness, NYC dysfunction).
Then they visit random suburbs in Texas, Florida or the Midwest and see middle-class families clearing $300k+/year with huge houses, multiple cars, space, AC, full restaurants, youth sports complexes and mass retail abundance.
The uncomfortable reality is that a lot of “ordinary” Americans live materially better than European elites.
Idk if it's media manipulation, denial of reality or straight ignorance, but we’re getting underclassed and most people only realize it when they land there.
European football fans visiting America are discovering the mass affluence of the country’s suburbs. The wealth enticing holidaymakers troubles European elites. America, once a peer, seems to be racing ahead economist.com/finance-and-ec…

Ro is catching a lot of flack for his latest round of posts, which he deserves.
Let me provide some context as someone who went up against him 1:1 (and lost).
1. He's not stupid. He doesn't think wealth taxes are a good idea. He knows capitalism is better than socialism. He ragebaits online to create ammunition to show his base that he's fighting the "Epstein Class."
Remember, he's raised more money from more billionaires than any Congressperson in the history of America. And he hasn't returned a dime of it.
2. He's never going to acknowledge fault or change his mind. All his "we can at least agree on..." are blatant attempts to make him seem reasonable and us seem unreasonable.
3. His stock trading, his family's net worth, the $10m house in DC, voters don't care about it. Or at least, not enough to vote differently. It's fun to dig at him about the hypocrisy, but no one outside of X cares.
For the last two years, and every day from now onwards, he's only playing nationally, not locally. 90% of his money comes from outside the 17th district. Every statement he makes has to be viewed in this lens.
4. The best thing, perhaps the only thing, we can do is ignore him. Irrelevance is a much greater punishment for him than being wrong.
5. What we can do to further his irrelevance is to change minds of people. When we went to BART stations and farmers markets and engaged voters 1:1, a 10 minute in person conversation with a teacher or a church administrator, we were far more effective. We just ran out of time.
Ro is a cancer to our country, to our economy, and to our district. I tried to fight him and failed at the ballot box, but we can't stop fighting the mind virus he's spreading across our nation. We need to fight it in the street to win.
Elon, how about just paying the 5% instead of hurling random insults?
