A big shout out to @rei for a classic McKinley bag and @Filson for a sweater and blanket and @Thermarest for camp mats that kept me warm when it was brutally cold (14 or so f) believe it or not, my felted wool hat my mom made had ice on it and my head was warm. Intense.

If anyone out there is doing watercolor, these brushes are phenomenal. I’ve had one sable brush from Escoda for many years, and now they have skyrocketed out of control. I was hesitant to accept a synthetic, but I must say these “Prado” brushes from Escoda are just wonderful.

Winter’s way of reminding us that it’ll be a while before we can get another dry fly to drift properly…

It was time to visit “Trout From The Hills” again. I say “visit”, because it is a place I can go to again and again to be caught up in a daydream. If you have not read this masterpiece by Ian Niall, (John Kincaid McNeillie) do it. The opening paragraphs are simply rapturous.

This is me reminding you that the joys in life don’t have to be expensive.. you just have to find them. This is the best coffee I’ve had in years and it only cost me €1.

Found this gem at a National Trust Bookstore. I’ve always wanted a copy but have turned down three in poor condition. This one plays as quiet as a cd. I love it when that happens.

Fiberglass Friday- Looking for any info. I have what I believe to be a rod built by none other than J.K. Fisher. 11 guides, spigot ferrules, impeccable finish in the blank itself. He didn’t finish many rods and because it’s older than I am, I’m without any further knowledge.

This is a picture of our two youngest “kids”. They have been married 8 months and I could not be more proud of them or the choices they are making.

Most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen on an animal. These are the wild ponies that live a few miles from our house on the Merthyr Common.
