Our study on #butterfly #evolution, #hostplants & #ranges is now formally out! We built a phylogeny of 2000 sp and found butterflies originated in N. America 100M years ago, likely fed on legumes. ~100 scientists from 28 countries contributed. Thanks all! nature.com/articles/s41559-0…

Ready to share this preprint about the basis of a shift from egg-laying to live-birth in Littorina. We find evidence for live-bearer specific sweeps at many loci, overlapping with genes that are differential expressed btwn reproductive systems. pls share!

I'm delighted to announce that I'm starting @uvabio as an Assistant Professor in January 2024! I'm thrilled to be joining such a wonderful department. My lab will study genomics, speciation, adaptation, and sex chromosome evolution in rattlesnakes, swallows, and other critters.
I'm looking forward to setting up the lab and collaborating with awesome folks interested in evolutionary genomics. I'll have more details soon, and encourage anyone interested in working in the lab to get in touch with me in the meantime!
