8 major hospitals have declared critical incidents in the last 24hrs alone.
Some of the 100s patients are stranded on trolleys, in corridors & in the back of ambulances will likely die there.
This isn’t normal, inevitable or attributable to viruses alone. It’s a catastrophe.

At Urgent Treatment Centres and Walk-In Centres you can be seen for a wide range of injuries and ailments that require urgent treatment but aren't life-threatening injuries.
Please help to keep A&E free for emergencies.(Please note that we do not have an A&E at Halton Hospital)

Dear 🇬🇧,
Your govt is ignoring the pleas of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine to save lives this winter. Please share to make @KeirStarmer, @RachelReevesMP, and @WesStreeting listen. Demand an urgent meeting with @RCollEM at @10DowningStreet now.

Tell me you work in the NHS without telling me….
ED consultants office. 3 episodes of consultants trapped in office, one for 30 mins till rescued by security whilst on call. No sign of estates for 3 days. “Fixed” by visiting orthopod 🙄

It’s a hard watch, but an essential watch. @C4Dispatches now. Our members deserve better. Patients deserve better. @RCEMpresident speaks on the heartbreaking reality of a system in crisis.

The medical education awards were presented on 19th June in the education centre. There were a lot of nominations for different categories of the award. After carefully filtering these awards were shortlisted and the winners were announced on the day of the Awards- Team Meded.
As an aside it would be great if the SoS for Health could actually get the title of a 1/3 of the medical workforce right.
SAS = Specialist, Associate Specialist and Specialty doctors.
IT MATTERS

My response to letter from @TheBMA Junior Doctors Committee 👇
These planned strikes are cynical and will harm patients. The BMA must call them off.

Your local NHS offers many different services to ensure you can access the most appropriate care for your health concerns and conditions.
Choose the right service for you.
Remember - Keep A&E free for the critically ill or injured.

The prime minister was wrong to say that junior doctors are the only NHS workforce in dispute. SAS doctors are currently considering an offer from Government and GPs remain in dispute over the most recent contract imposed by the Government in England. #ITVdebate

Wow another inspirational #SASByChoice Doctor @theSAScollect #SASsix mentoring the next generation of doctors! Well done!
The moment @KateGarraway and @edballs surprise this year’s Prince’s Trust GMB Volunteer of the Year Award winner live on air. 🥰
Despite being at the frontline in a busy hospital, Doctor Rebecca Thompson still finds the time to be a Prince’s Trust mentor, helping young people into the health and social care sector through the Prince’s Trust’s Steps Into Health and Social Care programme.

We are absolutely thrilled that @RCPhysicians have decided to endorse the #SASsix campaign, becoming the first Royal College to do so.
Improving the careers and retention of doctors in the NHS has never been more important. Together we can do this.

100%.
When I left training, I was blinkered by the system.
I wish I'd known how diverse a SAS career can be,
How much leadership & change is possible.

Banging the drum for SAS colleagues and how to show them some love is @nataliemitton - names matter, especially in a room full of Cas Officers (or ED docs 🤮)
And my boss is a fantabulous SAS doc…

So how is that going for you @RishiSunak @VictoriaAtkins @DHSCgovuk?
Junior doctors still striking with no offer fit to put to vote

Rishi Sunak said at #PMQs that NHS workers including “consultants and specialty doctors” have “reached a fair and reasonable pay settlement with the government”.
This is potentially misleading, as we said in a fact check just yesterday. (1/2)

Embracing parity of opportunity for the SAS doctors at Warrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals. I’d strongly encourage interested colleagues to talk to @PRFitzsimmons about this. Let’s make it happen

From @sas_sobauk: It is about organisations realising the potential of this group. Every clinical director, chief people person, director of medical education, CEO, etc should ask themselves... why would you not want to get the best out of your early career SAS drs? #SASsix
