✅Countless gamers continue to protest on every post and streamer yours
✅Mainstream media and celebrities echoed our concerns and ridiculed your approach
We are not the minority, you are the minority, and your engineered narrative that physical media is niche has been exposed and called out.
👉So overturn your predatory plan to end physical media
👉Reform your management and fire your CEOs and execs and bring people who value gaming and respect their audience
👉Apologize and let us put this behind us and progress with what’s left of this generation and the next with positivity and mutual respect

As confirmed earlier through our official channels, in mid-June of this year, we unexpectedly received notice from PlayStation Studios that they would cancel the PHYSINT project. PHYSINT is an important project both to me personally and to KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS. Determined to keep the project alive, we have spent the last three months searching tirelessly for a new partner. In the course of seeking advice and pursuing negotiations with people across many fields, we found in XBOX a partner with whom we share a common vision for the future, and we have decided to team up with them once again. Please rest assured that development of PHYSINT, our genre-defining action-espionage title, is ongoing and will continue moving forward.

To just accept that 12 years of Guardians, raids, friendships, and late nights got sacrificed so they could chase something that couldn’t even hold a player base. Fuck that.
Destiny didn’t fail us. Upper management and Sony did. We kept this franchise alive through every low, every crisis, every near death. We’re still here. We’re still playing. We’re still making noise.
Don’t let them gaslight you into thinking this is on the community. It’s not. And we’re not going to sit in silence while they try to bury the thing that kept Bungie breathing for over a decade.

For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2.
As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio.
Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to.
We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us.
From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.
