The CDC officially recommends Yeztugo (lenacapavir), @GileadSciences' long-acting injectable form of pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, for people at risk of HIV. In clinical trials, the injection, given every six months, all but eliminated new cases of HIV.
"Lenacapavir, administered as subcutaneous injections every 6 months, is recommended as an HIV PrEP option in persons weighing ≥77 lbs (≥35 kg) who would benefit from PrEP. This is a strong recommendation, based on high certainty of evidence."
