My hungarian article on the story of @alaa - one of the 60 thousand political prisoners in Egypt. His life is in danger. merce.hu/2022/11/21/ideiglen… #FreeAlaa

Ideiglenesen beszüntette éhségsztrájkját az egyiptomi politikai foglyok sorsa miatt tiltakozó...

Csütörtökön, 17-én találkozhatott a családjával.

I met @alaa in the early 2000s at a workshop for tech people helping NGOs. Our ages were similar, our interests were similar - activism and technology. He's the one that introduced me to the #drupal CMS (4.6 at the time), which I kept using professionally for the next 15 years.

If Hungary was just a bit more autocratic, this could have been me - or many of us. He recently obtained UK citizenship (his mother was born in the UK).

If you have ties with the UK, please contact your MP to act, he's requesting his right to a consular visit from the British Embassy. #FreeAlaa

Then came the prison's deputy governor – who already has a problem with @Alaa because he accused him of corruption – and ordered them to handcuff Alaa and then he assaulted him. Alaa is in danger! #SaveAlaa #FreeAlaa facebook.com/story.php?story…

Friends, can I ask you to take 2 mins to write to your MP to #freeAlaa? Alaa is a British citizen wrongfully imprisoned in Egypt under trumped up charges. He has been on hunger strike since April 2 & his situation is critical. The UK govt needs to step up. freealaa.net/take-action
