Looking forward to presenting with @tangowork at #lscitc with a short tech talk on how a data dashboard can help answer the question: do we make a difference?

The talk will highlight how at @PLSBC we ask five questions of users to tap into whether we’re making a difference in their lives. And our team sees the results on our real-time data dashboard, as described here by our tech partner @tangowork. tangowork.com/measurement-an…

It took a while, but finally put together highlights of our bike tour in Iceland last summer. Featuring the hardest hiking trail we've ever brought our bikes on, plus waterfalls, volcanoes, glaciers, fierce winds, and other Icelandic attractions. youtu.be/wTxZDzuAZkY

Crisply put by the former chief justice: "You can’t use your freedoms in a way that unreasonably conflicts with or affects the freedoms of other people. The freedoms guaranteed by the Charter stop where they harm others. With freedom comes responsibility." theglobeandmail.com/opinion/…

Best hockey moment of 2021: slick move by former #canuck Troy Stecher to set up OT winner vs. Russia, and Gord Miller with the great call.
Canada wins in overtime! 🇨🇦 Troy Stetcher makes a beautiful play and Andrew Mangiapane scores in OT to defeat Russia 2-1.
What an honour to be able to help folks like this lovely couple through our work at People's Law School.

One of our best webinars yet: the inimitable @BoydArbitration explaining upcoming changes to the Divorce Act.
It must be said: @BoydArbitration has one of the best radio voices in #bclaw (or #canlaw for that matter). Yesterday, he joined us for a webinar on changes coming to the Divorce Act next week. No one is easier to listen to when describing legal niceties. youtu.be/kYyfPFZ80_w

So cool to see People's Law School described as a world leader for our webinar programming. Thanks @lawtech_a2j for the lovely shoutout!
Legal outreach by video - the experience of @PLSBC (the People’s Law School) in running online courses which avoid ‘lawyers droning on’ and how they ‘chunked up’ sessions into interactive sections. It takes planning. law-tech-a2j.org/law-tech/ou…

Excellent #LSCITC session on using video to convey public legal info. Key takeaways: 1/ video can dramatically boost the reach of your info, 2/ shorter is better (under 2 mins), 3/ include text as well as voiceover for maximum impact, & 4/ aim for grade 4 to 6 readability.

Tuning in to the #LSCITC law & tech conference, cool to hear a shoutout for @LawSocietyofBC's new regulatory sandbox in a session on improving access to justice through changing how legal services are regulated.

Two takeaways for me from this #LSCITC session on regulatory sandboxes: 1/ amazing, groundbreaking work is being done by the folks in Utah, and 2/ others shouldn't wait until Utah data comes in; access to justice is in a crisis and needs action *now*.
Would love to see lawyer-delivered legal services pushed to provide the kind of outcome data for their services that innovative programs are required to report (a good thing). Only then will we see what services are truly effective at providing access to justice. #evidencedriven

THIS IS MORE DATA THAN ANY LAWYER HAS TO REPORT UT sandbox reporting requirements: 1-consumer complaints 2-legal outcomes 3-financial outcomes 4-amount paid 5-length of service most report monthly, based on risk factor #LSCITC

@a2jweekbc Say, is Access to Justice Week happening in two weeks time? I see the proclamation posted saying it's the week of Jan 24 to 30, 2021. But I'm not seeing any activity online yet. cbabc.org/CBAMediaLibrary/cb…
