Cognition is inherently dynamic, yet task-fMRI analyses often treat it as static.
My recent paper in NeuroImage introduces Probabilistic Cognitive State Modeling (PCSM).

We've mapped the brain combining TMS single pulses with concurrent fMRI recordings ⚡🧠 for a while. To make these causal maps avail to scientists, we are publishing them per this in press manuscript at Scientific Reports : rdcu.be/e0sjn 1/x
Excited to share my new preprint on Probabilistic Cognitive State Modeling (PCSM), a method that connects cognitive theory and neuroimaging by modeling serial-parallel processing, demand, and bottleneck dynamics over time.
Preprint: doi.org/10.1101/2025.10.31.6…
Great news: just received the NOA for a K23 grant from NIMH!
This project will test whether brain stimulation (TMS) can target core symptoms of psychopathy, which are implicated in a substantial proportion violent acts nationwide.

Are callous-unemotional (CU) traits purely affective, or do they also involve cognitive processes? A recent RCT finds CU traits uniquely link to cognitive-affective interaction difficulties that associate with antisocial behavior. doi.org/10.31234/osf.io/j3wq…
Happy to report this work was accepted for publication in the Journal of Affective Disorders, which can be found here: doi.org/10.1016/j.jad.2025.0…
looking to create orthogonalized interactions using centered residuals in python? "resmod" is now live on pypi. More functions coming soon (e.g., 3-way, sem latent interactions, etc.) pypi.org/project/resmod/
The functions suggested above have now been added with more to come. Please let me know if there is a function that you would like to see.
New updates include plotting and simple slopes for two and three-way interactions - let me know what you think. Demonstration: colab.research.google.com/dr…
