Adios. I'll be over at sfba.social/@drewda among other places online...
Kiddo is napping, so let me pass the time by posting some good news to #alamtg Nextdoor.
Hmm, I wonder what the responses will be...
Did Willie Brown bring his own pair of giant ceremonial scissors? Or, if the organizers did bring it, it makes total sense that he'd be able to outmaneuver all the other elected officials and get the big scissors while the rest of 'em use the little scissors :)

Look. The site is gonna stay up but the spell is broken. He'll let Trump back in then he'll kick him off and the NYT will cover it in all caps. There'll be another private jet handjob horse bribe incident. He'll make Calacanis CEO and fire him. &c. Everyone will care less daily.

Since we're getting nostalgic about the previous world of blogs and RSS, I wonder if PhilG is still posting...
Yes, for better — or worse — he is still posting...
Solid subtweet of the hyperloop dude:
Technological advancement is important, but for the nation's first HSR system, we're delivering what's been proven with over 35,000 miles in operation globally.
Our electrified HSR system will hit top speeds of 220mph and connect SF ↔️ LA in under 3 hours.

fwiw it's about a 30 minute BART ride from SFO to Civic Center Station

If you're missing Google Reader, let me recommend the service I've been using to read RSS feeds (as well as a handful of Twitter accounts): newsblur.com
A decade ago, I was on Caltrain working on my laptop. The fellow next to me glanced over and saw I was writing a Capistrano script. He said he worked at Twitter and told me about how they scaled Cap deploys with BitTorrent. El*n, say the word and I will come tonight to run ops 🙃
Also, you have my word that I've passed background checks. You can trust that I won't exfiltrate any data on behalf of foreign state actors! (Worst case my kids just bang on the keyboard while signed into a shell with escalated access :)
Also, El*n, don't worry about all of Twitter's payroll staff quitting. I'll get you signed up for Zenefits! bloomberg.com/features/2016-…

Can't be stressed enough. There have been many kinds of H-1B related abuses for decades, but I don't think I've ever heard of a situation this extreme. xitter.cf/arvindr92/status/15934…

Shout out to all the H1-B visa holders out there who will be single handedly keeping Twitter online in the coming days. They never had a choice to begin with. Either ho ‘hardcore’ or go home. Literally.
Just thought I'd give it a try, since it would fit the mood online... But, for better or worse, it just times out when I try to load valleywag.com
