Gone way too soon at just 16, but the passion and joy she brought to dance will live on 🕊️ Japanese dancer Ria Yamada, a member of the winning Jam Republic team on Street Dance Girls Fighter 2, passed away on September 18 after battling a serious illness for more than a year. Her family announced her passing on September 24, remembering the incredible strength she showed throughout her treatment. Ria entered SDGF2 as an individual dancer before being selected for Jam Republic, eventually helping the team win the competition in 2023. She later continued performing as a soloist and as part of Baby Jam, building a reputation far beyond her young age for her precision, confidence, and unmistakable presence on the dance floor. Even while undergoing chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant, Ria continued hoping for the day she could dance again. In their farewell, her family said what mattered most to her was dancing and the connections she made through it, expressing the hope that her dancing and her smile would remain in people's hearts. Rest in peace, Ria Yamada. Sixteen years was far too little time, but the joy she put into every performance will continue dancing on. 🕊️
