If your beliefs contradict the Bible, your beliefs are wrong. Let the Word of God control your beliefs, not the other way around.

Keller Vs Kirk (or The Third Way vs The Right Way) The last few weeks have shown that ignoring the call to political centrism actually leads not only to better evangelistic fruit, but also greater political influence and less political idolatry. Here's a full video on that.

-from an unknown author - Have you ever noticed how in the scriptures men are always going up into the mountains to commune with the Lord? Yet in the scriptures we hardly ever hear of women going to the mountains, and we know why — right? Because the women were too busy keeping life going; they couldn’t abandon babies, meals, homes, fires, gardens, and a thousand responsibilities to make the climb into the mountains! I was talking to a friend the other day, saying that as modern woman I feel like I’m never “free” enough from my responsibilities, never in a quiet enough, or holy enough spot to have the type of communion I want with God. Her response floored me, “That is why God comes to women. Men have to climb the mountain to meet God, but God comes to women where ever they are.” I have been pondering on her words for weeks and have searched my scriptures to see that what she said is true. God does in deed come to women where they are, when they are doing their ordinary, everyday work. He meets them at the wells where they draw water for their families, in their homes, in their kitchens, in their gardens. He comes to them as they sit beside sickbeds, as they give birth, care for the elderly, and perform necessary mourning and burial rites. Even at the empty tomb, Mary was the first to witness Christ’s resurrection, She was there because she was doing the womanly chore of properly preparing Christ’s body for burial. In these seemingly mundane and ordinary tasks, these women of the scriptures found themselves face to face with divinity. So if — like me — you ever start to bemoan the fact that you don’t have as much time to spend in the mountains with God as you would like. Remember, God comes to women. He knows where we are and the burdens we carry. He sees us, and if we open our eyes and our hearts we will see Him, even in the most ordinary places and in the most ordinary things. He lives.

Here is a bit of information I would share with young Christians who aren’t finding quality dates, and it’s something I wish someone had told me when I was younger. Christianity is a culture. If you want to find love, you must find someone whose name is written in the Book of Life. And this culture transcends race, ethnicity, and nationality. We live in a brand new era, one your parents didn’t know. For most of life, we were able to marry someone nearby with common interests. This alone would often bring us happiness. But this is not true today. You might find someone locally of the same race who gets all your jokes and pop culture references, but is woke and shares none of your values. This person appears to be part of your culture, but in reality, he or she is a foreigner, just like you are to him or her. Why? Because the culture of Christ can’t coexist with progressive thought. Meanwhile a “foreigner” from a land not your own, who might be of a different race or ethnicity, who doesn’t understand your customs or favorite music, but who loves Jesus and is a believer, is most certainly your fellow citizen! Why? He or she shares your culture and values. How I wish people could learn that culture and not race is what matters! Evangelical white Christians in the south? You have much more in common with Nigerian Christians than you do with woke Americans on the east coast. Irish Catholics? Your Mexican neighbors to the south know you far better than the secular progressives next door. You can’t fake the fruits of the spirit or a life dedicated to Christ. Now yes, you can find a believer of your own race and ethnicity in your home country. There is nothing wrong with this! Nor is there a problem with having preferences. All I ask is for people to think outside the box. Foreigners or people of other races who share Jesus aren’t foreign; they’re siblings in Christ. We are approaching a time, if not already there, when the words “my people” won’t mean your race or countrymen, but only fellow Christians around the globe. So keep this in mind. You won’t find happiness outside Christian culture because shared VALUES, and not interests, are what you need to be married.

Crown him the Lord of years, the potentate of time, creator of the rolling spheres, ineffably sublime. All hail, Redeemer, hail! for thou hast died for me; thy praise shall never, never fail throughout eternity.

It’ll soon become ubiquitous among upper class families to restrict kids under 16 from using social media. Hopefully the trend spreads to all families before too long. A hundred times easier to enforce the rule when all parents are doing it. thefp.com/p/jonathan-haidt-s… @JonHaidt

Too often we prioritize sports and our kids "learning to work as team players" and allow that as an excuse to miss church. Then we wonder why these children do not grow up to follow Jesus Christ.

Survey info shows 70% of educators, leaders say students struggle with reading comprehension due to lack of vocabulary. Just last night my 7th grader couldn't decipher the meaning of a passage on The War of 1812 b/c he didn't know the word "forbade." edweek.org/teaching-learning…

If a 2nd grade word problem on a standardized test is written at a 3rd or 4th grade reading level, then you aren’t testing for math proficiency, you’re testing for above grade level reading ability.

Students spent an average of 2 hours a day in English classes, but only ~30 minutes in science or history. They'd be so much better served learning more about history, reading primary texts, discovering the world, than practicing "find the main idea" for 120 minutes a day
