Cardiologist by training. Founder by necessity. Building @tricoghealth: AI that's screened 35M+ hearts across 16 countries. Still in the cath lab every week.

I've screened 35 million hearts with AI. But the reason I built this technology is personal. A thread. 🧵

We need more Kaushik’s to take on hard problems. May his tribe increase.
Factory 1 doesn’t usually open its doors. Was a pleasure to make an exception for @ashleevance and his team. The first-ever inside look at Factory 1 goes online soon. You’re about to see how we’re building India’s industrial backbone. 🇮🇳 @etherealmachine

So, @etherealmachine has made its own 5-axis CnC machines from scratch in India. Quite remarkable, really. We got the exclusive look at their factory

Dr S. Harikrishnan's National Heart Failure Registry: 10,940 patients, mean age 59.9, a full decade younger than Western and Chinese registries. Only 47% received full guideline-directed therapy. Device therapy, such as ICDs and CRT, was under 2% in India, compared with 13- 14% in Europe. #NationalCVDSummit #HeartFailure @tricoghealth

In the news: RDX Goa covers today's inauguration of the National CVD Summit 2026 by Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, spotlighting Goa's STEMI programme, 20 spokes strong, and its impact on early mortality. #NationalCVDSummit #NCVD2026 @rdxgoa @tricoghealth

Punjab started with zero government cardiac emergency capability and a thrombolysis rate of zero. In two years, Punjab added 75 spokes across the state, screened 47,000 patients, and reduced mortality from 15% to 7%. Dr Bishav Mohan's pilot alone took thrombolysis rates from 0% to 98% among eligible patients. #NationalCVDSummit #STEMICare @tricoghealth

Every ECG @tricoghealth report carries a 10-minute promise, says Dr Sudha Rammohan, VP Medical Operations. Her team's principle: accuracy doesn't fail loudly; it slips quietly, so every doctor is tested monthly, not just trained once. #NationalCVDSummit #CardiacCare

Dr @zainultricog, Co-founder of @tricoghealth: In India, a heart attack response beyond six hours cuts survival odds below 20%. His team's AI and hardware stack exists to flip that number, cutting doctor review time from 3 minutes to under 30 seconds per ECG. #NationalCVDSummit #CardiacCare

Replying to @DrCNManjunath
@DrCNManjunath: Cardiovascular disease is now a bigger killer of Indian women than cervical and breast cancer combined, and 35% of heart attacks now occur in people under 40. His policy ask: make tenecteplase the default thrombolytic nationwide, and treat every STEMI case with the urgency it demands. "Heart attack cannot wait." @visrane #STEMICare @tricoghealth

Before any AI tool enters a cardiology workflow, Dr Muthu Dhandapani, VP Quality & Regulatory Affairs, says six questions come first. Top of the list: Is it validated on Indian patients, and is a clinician still in the loop? #NationalCVDSummit #CardiacCare @tricoghealth

Replying to @drcharit
@drcharit's data mining findings: across 1.3 million ECGs from 700 hospitals in Maharashtra, 1 in 21 showed signs of heart failure, most of them not classic heart attack presentations. The sharpest finding: prevalence was highest in Nandurbar, a tribal belt, where access to care is hardest to reach. #NationalCVDSummit #HeartFailure @tricoghealth

Dr Amar Prabhudesai's case for primary PCI: it opens the artery in over 95% of cases, compared with 60- 70% even with the best thrombolytics. His framing for STEMI care: "time is myocardium." Every guideline-driven minute saved is muscle saved. #NationalCVDSummit #STEMICare @tricoghealth

Dr Y. Premchandra Singh, Director of Health Services, Manipur: a state facing three years of conflict, rare terrain and only one PCI-enabled medical college out of four. Eight months into a digital ECG network, it has already identified 50+ STEMI cases and 15 previously undetected heart conditions. #NationalCVDSummit #CardiacCare @tricoghealth

Dr P.B. Jayagopal's warning: heart failure mortality in India, near 21% at one year, is now worse than several common cancers. A striking gap: in a survey of over 2,000 healthcare professionals, 99% rated their understanding as good. Only 9% actually got the therapy right. #NationalCVDSummit #HeartFailure @tricoghealth

It was a privilege and honour to present @tricoghealth to the leaders of the free world at the BRICS summit. 41 million people screened > 1 million critical patients saved. Our mission is to reach 100 million people by 2030

Every single doctor takes an oath. to put the needs of all patients ahead of their own and their family. I have travelled our vast country to meet so many incredible doctors who sacrifice everything to save their patients. With little or nothing to help them. Alone. Struggling. But never giving up. Because that would mean losing a patient, destroying a family. We all need healthcare systems to improve. But not like this.
(takes a deep breath) Going to potentially jeopardize the collaboration opportunity with each one of the folks I'm going to tag in this tweet and talk about, but someone has to ask. @kaashvisaxena : What was the intention of this event? Why did this have to happen in a hospital? You announced it, and there was enough hate, reflection, and a lot of thoughts from people who know what it's like spending time in a hospital (maybe nobody in the team has and it shows). This is not what "growth hacking" means. Never did, never will. @suhasasumukh: What about this event is a "localhost" event that brings people together? What did you solve out of this? Did getting into a hospital and doing this in the basement/on a floor make you feel like you're amazing, or make you feel like you've done something that people haven't and that's cool? If you or the team feel like this is something crazy you've achieved, I believe there is something fundamentally wrong with the ethos of everyone involved. @Chandan_Perla: Not sure what the intention was for you being a part of this as well. I have known and followed you since 2024, seeing you emcee certain hackathon events in Accel, to now with the AI festival etc. Again, I don't think this is tasteful at all compared to the places and things you've done. It is just pretentious that you were a part of this too. Finally, @superhealth_ind @varundubey I have no words for you, this one tweet is enough to tell what kind of a person superhealth is being led by and why this even happened - xitter.cf/varundubey/status/2090… If you did this for PR, good luck, your already angry patients/customers + the new hating ones will ensure y'all get nothing but a decreasing footfall. For the person who's tweeted this - @iamgaurangdesai what in the world is that first line? 😭 Did you feel like a smart person drafting that? Every single person who's been involved in this has probably never sat in a hospital, looked into their loved ones eyes during that time, seen someone pass away, or dealt with something close by. That is probably why this happened in-spite of all the drama. And whoever attended this - empathy can never be taught and thanks for being a precedant. — Typed with @WisprFlow

I wrote about a heart risk that runs in families and never shows up on a normal cholesterol report — and the one-time blood test that settles it. wp.me/pfy8NX-1u
