Brian Schottenheimer said Dak made the right play throwing it away on 3rd & goal, and I agree. But this was less about the Cowboys’ coaching and more about what Anthony Weaver and the Ravens defense did. On 1st down, the personnel allowed Baltimore to stack the box and essentially take away the options. On 3rd down, they adjusted to 11 personnel, changed the picture, and forced Dak into the throwaway. Cowboys QB Dak Prescott on the throwaway pass over George Pickens on the final drive: “The coverage they were playing 99 times out of 100, they are supposed to cover GP [outside]. They’re supposed to have outside leverage and funnel inside. GP did a great job of winning regardless.” Dak said he wishes he would’ve planted his back foot and thrown it.
