We’re baaaaaack!
Our winter podcast break is over and the @ARCAT_news @DetailedPodcast full length episodes are back and ready to kick off 2025!
Listen in Here: arcat.com/podcast
In our first 2025 episode, I am joined by Jooyeol Oh, Principal at @MG2_design in their Seattle Office.
We have a fantastic conversation about the 6 Corners Lofts Project in Chicago!
Located in Chicago’s Portage Park, the historic Sears building at 4714 W Irving Park Road has undergone a remarkable transformation.
The building started as an Art Deco Sears department store and warehouse that opened its doors in 1938 and operated until 2018, marking the end of an era.
However, thanks to the visionary efforts of MG2, in collaboration with @ColliersEng & Design and client @NovakCC, this iconic structure has been reborn as the 6 Corners Lofts—a dynamic mixed-use development combining retail and residential spaces.

Also: it is fascinating to me that "adaptive reuse" still needs to be defined, can be treated as a new New Thing. Something else the 1970s gave us!
