I was on CNBC Africa last week discussing the Dangote Petroleum refinery IPO based on the article I had written (see post linked below)
The main point was that the IPO is priced aggressively and carries risks, but the hype and momentum will probably ensure it succeeds in the short term.
Also talked about the "Dangote Premium", which is worth understanding especially if you are an entrepreneur trying to build the same market moving influence.

Freedom of religion must be protected
BUT
The people must be protected from abuse and exploitation by Churches
We can all agree we have seen enough in Zimbabwe. N'angas are regulated , i do not see why Churches should not be regulated

Kanti She was talking about sharing a man Cyan Boujee… 😭😭😭😭
Dude said he’s been in the industry for 13 years only to be met with a “Who are you? We don’t even know you” 😭
Leave the 2Ks alone man—especially when you’re not a household name. These kids cook Cassper on a daily as big as he is, what do you think they’re gonna do to you?

I was just thinking of how there’s not mass excitement about that billionaire’s visitor to the Falls, I believe it could have been exciting to many. But then one just thinks of the state of the road to the destination and well.. the excitement dies down. We must fix that road.

South Africa is hardly proof that democracy automatically delivers development. It inherited an established industrial & financial economy from apartheid, but one deliberately structured to benefit a minority while excluding the Black majority from wealth & opportunity. Three decades of democracy have not dismantled that economic legacy, even with policies like the B-BBEE it hasn’t managed to fix this whilst under the democratic system.
Today, unemployment remains above 30%, inequality is among the highest in the world, & violent crime remains a serious national crisis. Crime alone costs the economy at least 10% of GDP annually. These are not exactly indicators of a system working perfectly.
And saying democracy has failed in Africa because African countries supposedly “aren’t democracies” is circular reasoning. South Africa has competitive elections & constitutional institutions. You cannot celebrate its democratic credentials when making your argument, then redefine democracy whenever its outcomes are inconvenient.
Rwanda is more efficient & better governed now, but is it the typical democratic state? Africa’s failures in my view are actually because we are trying to implement systems that weren’t designed with the African man in mind, so we will always fall short.

We'll be told that economic growth is a local government competency when in reality one of biggest issues with our little economic growth is that it lacks localisation and disproportionately benefits the large urban centres and leaves our rural towns + provinces behind.

Having a train that takes you directly to the airport is genuinely one of the top 10 things a city can offer. No expensive taxis, no sitting in traffic, no begging someone to drop you off. Just get on the train and arrive at the airport. Every major city should have this.

🔸What’s the legal basis of this new traffic fine system? How does the machine formulate a reasonable suspicion that an offence has been committed as required by law? Can the police outsource their constitutional obligation to police crime to a machine? What legal framework governs its use and operation? If a person challenges the legality of the fine and does not admit guilt, what legal mechanism will be used to oppose the challenge? Given that it’s AI, to what extent does it hallucinate?
We need new leaders.🇿🇼

The UN warns El Nino could put more than six million Zimbabweans at risk of hunger. Farmers are being told not to plant after the first rains, but with only one growing season, waiting brings risks as drought fears grow.
