Your hospital admin can be just a suit. Or can be a clinician who has held a dying patient's hand at 3am, been puked on, shat on, or spit on, all while continuing to care for their needs. Doctors and nurses, get educated, and take back your hospitals.

"Medicare overspent on 43.2% of prescription fills in 2018 relative to Costco member prices." And CMS will be cutting physician rates by 3.4% on Jan 1st. How about we let @mcuban run @HHSGov?
In 2021, Medicare spend on just 3 generic glaucoma drops was ~$100M more than DTC @mcuban @costplusdrugs aaojournal.org/article/S0161… Thank you to the team @vitreouscutter @sylviagrothMD @PaulSternberg10 @VUMCEye @TheLens_oph

I had a new employee, sitting in the front row, fall asleep during my New Employee Orientation presentation this morning. I felt more shame than they did.

This is certainly gross and unjust, but doesn't every payer use these types of systems, including Medicare? How are claims adjudicated in other countries?
Doctors at a major US insurance company deny tens of thousands of claims a month without even looking at patients’ files. “We literally click & submit,” a former Cigna doctor told @ProPublica & @Capitol_Forum. “It takes all of 10 seconds to do 50 at a time.” The inside story 🧵

Physicians (and patients) get your house in order. There is a vastly underreported financial crisis occurring in hospitals across the US and the fallout will be unprecedented. This is not a drill. Massive cuts and closures are coming.

I read hundreds of physician job applications every year, and today I had a first. Under the "other activities" section, they listed arm wrestling enthusiast. 💪 The bigger surprise was the applicant wasn't ortho.

The best life skill I learned in medical school and residency is how to function at a high level while feeling like complete dog shit.

This is great news for patients who struggle with age-related hearing loss. What does it mean for a career in audiology?
Today, we took action to establish a new category of over-the-counter hearing aids, enabling consumers with perceived mild to moderate hearing impairment to purchase hearing aids directly from stores or online retailers. go.usa.gov/xSSxY
Eagerly awaiting @signaturedoc take on the 340B ruling from the Supreme Court. Don't make me wait Ron! 😭

9-0, hell yeah! This is big news for hospitals in undeserved areas.
In a complex dispute over Medicare reimbursement, the Supreme Court unanimously sides with hospitals in their challenge to a 2018 federal regulation that slashed the reimbursement rates for some of the prescription drugs that hospitals dispense in outpatient settings.
One of the best albums ever recorded. Perfect blend of rock, pop, folk, and even country.
Dulcinea was released today in 1994. Which song is your favorite?
Went to a big corporate meeting and found out key policy makers haven't set foot in a hospital in 2 years. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. #MedTwitter #hospital #angry

Nope.
Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla explains Pfizer's new tech to Davos crowd: "ingestible pills" - a pill with a tiny chip that send a wireless signal to relevant authorities when the pharmaceutical has been digested. "Imagine the compliance," he says
