Moderated by @jeffgdavis.

not the same thing though. MOQ is in its own category - and it’s generative not an edition like this.
Everyone's chasing @emilyxxie Qilins this week 🐉 1.65 ETH this morning, 2 ETH this afternoon
Meanwhile I'm quietly sitting on her Serpent State 🐍 80 editions, Art Basel Miami Beach 2025, zero listed 🤌
Collecting Emily before CT notices, one espresso at a time ☕😂
Qilin or Serpent: which Emily are you chasing?

life in general
One of the ugliest truths about cryptoart:
If you have a name, connections and people constantly validating you, you can produce mediocre work forever and still be celebrated. If you have none of that, quality alone won’t save you.
And this space has given something very valuable to artistic impostors: a way to monetize the appearance of being an artist.
You don’t necessarily need years of work, technical knowledge, a coherent body of work or even much of an artistic voice. Sometimes you just need visibility, the right circle and enough people repeating that what you do matters.
Then price becomes proof of quality.
Collectors become proof of talent.
Popularity becomes proof of artistic relevance.
And once that machinery starts moving, almost nobody wants to be the person who says the emperor is naked.
Cryptoart didn’t create mediocre artists, but it created an extraordinary market for pretending mediocrity is genius.

Finally managed to add another Neural Fad by the brilliant @emikusano .This collection reminds me of the sheer insanity & joy that I felt living in & around Tokyo in the late 90’s. Especially, people watching on Sundays around Harajuku & Yoyogi Koen. Naturally, I vibe with all the incredible work of @IDerech for similar reasons.
