After almost 17 years, yesterday I finished my last day at the UFT. On Monday I begin my new role in CUNY as Vice Chancellor of Government Affairs. Excited to be joining such an incredible institution.
On this Veterans Day, I offer my full gratitude to all who have served, all who have sacrificed, and all who have lost, in service of this great nation. 🇺🇸
Councilmember Sandra Ung and the legendary former NYFD UFOA President Al Hagan joined me at our EV poll site in Middle Village. The residents we met were incredibly supportive. :)
It's getting warm out there, but we're hitting the streets to talk to voters about why @dpsmyth1 is the best candidate in the primary election on Tuesday! Consider beating the heat by early voting today - find your poll site here: findmypollsite.vote.nyc/
An important endorsement for our campaign from the Queens Ledger Newspaper.

This Father’s Day I celebrate my auld fella, and all the fathers who led the way, who set the example, who raised the bar on what the role entails.
I’ll be over to see him the day after Election Day, but in the mean time, I want to wish all the great dads a Happy Father’s Day.
Ryan graduated kindergarten a minute ago, or what seemed like a minute ago, and High School today!
My little guy is not a little guy anymore. Off to college in September.
Rain or shine, I know we can always count on our bothers and sisters from HTC. Thank you for all the doors you canvassed, and for all your support :)
HTC volunteers took City Council District 30 by storm - knocking on doors today for Candidate @dpsmyth1!
Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. My condolences to all who are impacted by these brutal cowardly murders.
Antisemitism in all its forms, must be confronted and pushed back against. Or this is the tragic road we end up on.
To the over 300 carpenters and over 100 addition volunteers, my heartfelt thank you. I will show up all day everyday for you and your families once elected.
#UnionCarpenters are #GOTV in full force to help get our friend of labor @dpsmyth1 across the finish line! Dermot cares about carpenter issues and will always fight for us! Thank you to the 300 plus members who came out for him this weekend! #CarpentersRISE
Loved seeing your members out in full force today. Have met so many who live here in CD30 over the last several weeks. This campaign is about our neighbors, our workers and their families.
HTC members were out in Ridgewood today, getting out the vote for @dpsmyth1 for NYC City Council District 30. A former public school teacher and union advocate, Dermot Smyth supports labor, and we support him!
This campaign is about everyday people. Those who want clean parks, safe streets, great schools and a more affordable city. And it will be a #unionbuilt campaign.
The @RWDSU proudly endorses union activist @dpsmyth1 for NYC Council in District 30! Dermot Smyth has dedicated his career to advocating for working people, and we know he will only continue to do so as a City Councilmember.

Everyone is Irish today. Wishing a Happy fun filled Saint Patrick’s Day to you all. And remember, a pint of Guinness is a special kind of holy water. ☘️
As a union member, this endorsement is so meaningful to me. I will fight to improve our quality of life in the jobs we work, and the neighborhoods we live. Thank you to 1199SEIU for helping us build this strong coalition of support!
