I leave you with two pups who may not be with us for much longer…dumped in the ACC of NYC…the City that never sleeps…the Capital of Strays & Emaciated pups….
The sad boy behind his kennel bars is Balloon who was left in the care of his human’s parents, grand pup parents if you will, when his human moved out of the country…moved with no care about the wreckage they left behind…a big beautiful grieving pup who sits in a kill pound drooling behind the bars of his kennel…he’s completely shut down and they’ve issued his kill command….If no one comes for Balloon, if no foster or adopter through the rescue steps up, I’ll be writing his obituary tomorrow, Monday…whenever they decide to steal his shine ✨
And then there’s the beautifully bereft Raina…a Gorgeous white & sable Pibble girl who spent all four years of her life crated in a basement on bare concrete flooring devoid of bedding…she was never cuddled or touched or seen and she was almost never walked. A neighbor would spend time with her two times a week and when Raina’s human was evicted & abandoned her, this neighbor took her in to her small living space…Raina & the neighbor’s pup got into a scuffle and hence her detainment at NYCACC….
Both pups are stunningly gorgeous. They deserve a shot at a real life with loyal humans. Balloon & Raina should be placed in a home where they are the focus of their new human. They need to be made to feel how special they are considering their trauma….
We’re looking for two good humans who do not have a pup or cat in their home…someone who wants to adopt or foster. If you know of anyone, please comment on my post.
This pound killed six healthy, beautiful, young pups on Friday night. It was an unholy slaughter of innocents….We can’t let them take Balloon and Raina…we simply can’t….

A mother and her three young children were trapped inside an upside-down SUV that was filling with water in a Florida canal.
One of the little boys was banging on the door, screaming that his mom’s head was underwater.
That’s when Casey Curtis heard the cries and ran toward the canal. He reached the submerged SUV and started pulling the children out one by one, getting all three to safety.
But their mother was still inside.
Casey went back to the vehicle and found her unconscious, still buckled into her seat with her head underwater. He lifted her face above the water, realized she wasn’t breathing and gave her a breath right there in the canal.
She started breathing again.
The mother spent several days in intensive care, but she survived. All three of her children survived too.
Those kids watched a stranger pull them from a sinking SUV, then turn around and go back into the water for their mom when she couldn’t save herself. Casey Curtis is the kind of person people should know about.

"Beatty has served on the Kennedy Center Board since 2019 when she was appointed by then Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
When Trump came to power in January 2025, he filled the Board with Trump sycophants and even named himself the Chairman.
Since he couldn’t remove Beatty, he had his Kennedy Center Board literally try to silence her at the key meeting in December 2025 discussing renaming the Kennedy Center after Trump.
At that meeting, Beatty was joining via phone. She soon realized her comments and objections could not be heard because Trump’s team had muted her.
From there, the Board voted to rename the Kennedy Center after Trump. The next day Trump’s press secretary had the audacity to say that vote to name the Center after Trump was unanimous.
Just four days later, she filed a lawsuit against Trump—with the legal assistance of Democracy Defenders—to reverse the name change.
The lawsuit argued that the Center was named by Act of Congress and only Congress can change the name.
She is 100% correct. As a brief history lesson, in 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed bipartisan legislation creating a National Cultural Center in the nation’s capital. However, it lacked funding and the project languished.
That was until President John F. Kennedy committed in 1962 to raise $30 million to construct it.
Kennedy even organized a star-studded 1962 televised fundraiser featuring, among others, conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, poet Robert Frost, musician Harry Belafonte and 7-year-old cellist Yo‑Yo Ma.
At that event, Kennedy spoke powerfully of the importance of the arts, “As a great democratic society, we have a special responsibility to the arts, for art is the great democrat calling forth creative genius from every sector of society, disregarding race or religion or wealth or color.”
The Center was never intended to be named after Kennedy but after he was assassinated in November 1963, Congress and President Lyndon Johnson enacted legislation to honor him.
The Center was then designated as a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy recognizing his devotion to the advancement of the performing arts in the United States."

Last night, Trump told a bunch of billionaires at a Rose Garden dinner for outdoor enthusiasts that he is so powerful as president — he could ban them from fishing.
One of the executives in attendance was Johnny Morris, the billionaire founder of Bass Pro Shops.
"That means you can sell a lot of fishing rods, Johnny.
You're going to sell a lot of rods. I could have made it so you couldn't sell. You couldn't sell anything. I could have banned fishing," Trump mused.
"I'll tell you what. The power of this office is crazy. I could have banned fishing and driven Johnny right the hell out of business. Okay. I think I'm going to do that.
Just maybe just a quick order, just for a day or two, till he calls me and he says, 'Please, President, please, you're putting me out of business, sir.!"
