I was driving along Trafalgar Road some weeks ago and when I got to the intersection with Hope and Waterloo Roads, a thought came to mind. Could that intersection be the place for Jamaica’s own version of Japan’s famous Shibuya Crossing? If you think about it, it looks possible.
Correction: Glenmuir now has the most Ben Francis Cup titles; 8 now. STETHS and Cornwall College have 7 titles each.
Glenmuir High are the 2026 Ben Francis Cup Champions after they defeated Clarendon College 2-0 a short while ago at the STETHS field. It’s Glenmuir’s 7th Ben Francis title and they now join STETHS and Cornwall College as Schools with the most titles in this competition.

It appears that as a result of Craig Butler’s involvement in the JC saga, several JC fans threw their to support behind KC against Craig’s team Mona in this Walker Cup final.
Kingston College wins the first Schoolboy Football title up for grabs for the 2026 Season when they defeated Mona High 2-1 in the Walker Cup Final at the Stadium East field a short while ago. It’s KC’s 10th Walker Cup title and first since 2016.
Was watching Mighty Sparrow’s funeral service and the cheer and applause for Mia, Rowley and even the former President of T&T was much louder than that heard for Kamla.

Wait it’s a morning of breaking news. The Supreme Court has granted an injunction to block the removal of the Mayor of the Clarendon Municipal Corporation. As it stands the scheduled meeting for today to move 2 votes of no confidence will no longer go ahead.
Military intervention appears to have been made in the Sligoville siege. Gunmen reportedly shot, their condition unknown. Reports suggest that one of the gunmen also shot his daughter who is receiving treatment at the moment.
So JC is appealing ISSA’s ruling; it appears that they may have also submitted requests for review of other high school footballers who they say also have “professional” contracts in place as well. Will ISSA facilitate their appeal before tomorrow’s scheduled Walker Cup final?
JC is lucky to not have received a more severe sanction. Recall that they were placed on Probation for 3 years following the use of an ineligible player back in 2023. That probationary period ended at the start of this season. If it had not ended it would have been worse for JC.
Missed the Reggae Girlz match tonight; tough loss for them. But a lot to learn from before the World Cup Qualifiers next month. Coach definitely made some adjustments from the first game to get a look at some other players; so I’m not worried.
