I still remember this CD and of course the Nelson Mandela face (my homeland featuring! 🇿🇦)
This was Google before the internet 😄

First afternoon porting No One Lives Forever (2000) to the browser with Claude: 1:05pm every texture opens 1:18pm every level loads 1:52pm a level running in a browser tab 2:40pm the music plays AI feels like magic. Then came the real work: making it play like the original.

Odd bit of history: Monolith released the code for No One Lives Forever (2000) back in 2001. But not the engine it runs on. (similar scenario to Unreal Tournament and Half-Life) So to get it running in a browser, I had a fleet of Opus 5.5 agents build a new engine that behaves exactly like the old one. Left: day one. Right: today.

An overlooked and valuable addition to this is simply adding in rotation as you extend.
I'm once again reminding you that the low back extension is one of the best exercises for a strong and resilient body. I used to deal with chronic low back pain in my 20s and 30s. Part of my protocol was the McGill Big 3 (bird dog, McGill Crunch, side planks) to strengthen the muscles supporting my low back. Then I used the back extension to strengthen the hips, glutes, and low back. Just a word of warning: Overextending your low back on this machine will make things worse. Activate from the hips and glutes and don't go past activation. 2-3 sets of 6-10 reps are enough to keep my low back strong, healthy, and pain free for life.

It's surreal seeing your 9 year old son enjoying a retro game you played around his age. But this time, hacked together with Claude Opus 5.5 in a week on a browser, lightning fast. Check it out playnolf.com

amazing what agentic engineering, otherwise known as vibe coding can do. NOLF, an old 2000 game without a released engine, now on mobile, playable in the browser on lightning fast Cloudflare servers. we would have never imagined this back then! playnolf.com/

No One Lives Forever (2000) runs in a browser and mobile now (some bugs, but working on them). playnolf.com. All 16 missions (PS2 ones coming), nothing to install. Wanted to scratch my Millennial nostalgia lol. Enjoy!

Love seeing stuff like this in this flood of AI generated content, worthy of support and added to my @Steam wishlist. Go support them!
Finally we can speak about what we've been cooking for some time. 🤖🤖

I did it, got NOLF fully reverse engineered and working in a browser! Doing some tweaks and edits then will release it soon.

this sums up perfectly where my head is at. I was previously using a rigorous git-centric orchestrator (which I still use for foundational code), but now find that a simple Claude Code + concurrent agents + adversarial review process is best for most stuff!
This. People keep asking me for my setup. It's really just any harness, multiple agents concurrently, barely any skills, and using adversarial reviews. There's no magic sauce (or source!). The models are great out of the box.

Somebody needs to make a lightweight @WhatsApp now. It’s one of the most bloated and resource heavy apps on the Mac.
Spotifast 0.12 is out! Spotify, fast, in 200MB of RAM, for all OSs. It now consumes 0% CPU when idle. spotifast.rocks/

I just started taking creatine. I’m a late-diagnosed lifelong ADHD sufferer (savant?), and noticed a profound help with focus and clarity. Gym and lifting and general energy has been much improved. It’s also very clearly positively offset sleep deprivation. 10/10 would recommend.
This new creatine study is insane. People who never trained took 10g of creatine a day and gained more lean tissue (2.43 lbs) than people who were lifting 3x a week with no creatine (0.31 lbs). Here's the breakdown: (1/18)
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 2.43 lb was DXA “lean mass,” not 2.43 lb of muscle. Creatine increases intracellular water, which DXA counts as lean tissue. The study didn’t measure hypertrophy, and exercise vs no-exercise wasn’t randomized. Does not show creatine beats lifting. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

As a former clinician, this made is literally LOL knowingly, sadly, and wryly!
Your future doctor is using ChatGPT to get through exams right now, so please start eating better and exercising.

I believe @davepl1968 built or ported this game? It was amazing... I spent days and days of my life playing this and got really good lol. Time for a fresh version! show us some magic.
There was a time when Pinball Machine Games were quite popular. One of the best was 3D Pinball Space Cadet, which turned 30 this year. It feels like that sub-genre of gaming has more or less died entirely. Pretty sad. Released in 1996, it was bundled with various Microsoft products, originally with Microsoft Plus! 95 and later included in Windows NT, Windows Me, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.
