There is zero institutional will to rehabilitate us. Yet, our pain is endlessly useful to you: • You parade our ethnic cleansing at the UN General Assembly strictly as a diplomatic trump card to score points against Pakistan. • You invoke our exodus at election rallies across India as a communal scare tactic to garner votes. You make grand, chest-thumping speeches about reclaiming PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan, but you cannot even safely resettle your own tax-paying citizens in the valley you already control. The bitter truth is clear: you don’t want this wound to heal. You keep it raw because a healed wound yields no political mileage and scores no diplomatic points.
