I don’t know who needs to hear this, but stop comparing yourself to more-senior engineers, because they are living in the future: zerobanana.com/essays/living…

As an… – employee in tech I want… – Everything abbreviated, even when the abbreviation itself takes longer to say than the original, before you even account for the fact that you have to say the original thing for clarification so that… – I can save time

Who hasn't dreamt of creating a software that'd run in space? In <24h, @SpaceX will transport the @Endurance_Cube into orbit. It runs my team's #MicroShift (@openshift for #edge devices) and enables school children to upload code for accessing the sat's sensor data @redhatopen

#Microshift is @openshift in smaller form for the #edge. @RHEL now has capabilities for the device edge. Check out how #microshift can sit on RHEL. Managed by Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management. @FrankZdarsky at #RedHat booth at #Kubecon. @redhat @redhatevents @redhatopen – at Paterna, España

Super excited to finally see my team talk publicly about #microshift, a small form-factor #openshift for #edge devices that we’ve been incubating. @rickynds @mangel_ajo @openshiftcommon @RedHat

3 years ago today, Uber IPO'd. It has since lost half its value. Exited self-driving 18 months ago. For years, the twin promise of Uber & self-driving has been used as an excuse to delay investing in transit. The market has become realistic about its limitations & so should we.
Self-driving Ubers are on the road in our hometown.

I think in software we should adopt watchmaker terminology so instead of calling things 'features' we call them 'complications.'

Becoming more senior as an engineer isn't so much about the code you're writing; it's more about communication, collaboration, and connecting the dots

Particularly as a manager or senior IC a much more valuable skill is to be able to go deep on some unfamiliar tech issue quickly to unblock a decision: that has… nothing to do with coding and nothing to do with having used the latest, faddiest tech.

When I say, "Does that make sense?", it's not because I don't think you're smart. It's because I think that I am incoherent.

Interacting meant talking, and eye contact. I could already feel my performance capacity dropping.
