UI ray tracing might just be my new favorite trick
This is not 3D, it was made with @figma πŸͺ„ Would you click it? Looks even better in the file: figma.com/community/file/137…

So I got curios what's up with @sketch these days, and um.... do you guys still use rectangles wrapped in groups to mimic a frame with a background??

I was going to write down some thoughts on UI3 after the adjustment time but found out everything was already perfectly summed up!
5 problems with the new Figma UI3 that need to be fixed right now (with solution proposals!) I’ve been using the new @figma UI3 design for the last three days, and here is what I found that completely breaks the workflow or is just annoying. The new Figma design is great in many ways, and I want it to become even greater, so I created this thread. Let’s go. Guys, @disco_lu , @miggi, @rogie, maybe you can take a look?

I would probably add one more point: the content in the gaps around detached panels is quite distracting when panning the canvas. It was already brought up several times, but i really think the option to stick the panels to the edges would be great @figma

These panels work for apps like Spline because they usually have one central piece, while in Figma there might be dozens of frames scattered around

It was turned off by default for me for some reason (I'm on a Professional plan), but apparently it isn't for many other people. I'm curious why @figma decided it's okay to train their models on the content of PAYING customers, and why so few are discussing it.
Adobe has never trained their generative AI on user content: and made this stance formal in their latest T&C updates. It is very odd to see that Figma, *by default* trains on their customer data (aka work designers do in their tool.) Only enterprise plans have this turned off.

Some may say it was clearly communicated at Config, but imagine how many people didn't watch it. The truly clear communication would be to show modal window at launch with options to opt out, right now it just looks like another dark pattern

I mean I can understand training on free accounts (if something is free, you are the product), but this is some next level

Such a shame I couldn't attend #Config2024 in person, but at least I had my very own showcase screen there. Have you seen it? πŸ˜€

Replying to @nikolasklein
@nikolasklein would love to be able to resize this window (and its content), right now even the shortest expression doesn't fit. Here I just multiplying two variables, and the second one is cropped:

Yooooo, just found out that my blobs work in @figma Slides as well, just by copy/pasting from the designer mode! So if you want to bring some life to your deck, check it out: figma.com/community/file/119… #Config2024
