One last thing, you might be wondering why I only have 5 unfinished songs for my first album. I actually had many years of unfinished songs but the backups were wiped. I have very little remaining of my first 12 years of chiptune.

I was on a long hiatus when I found this out. The only reason I found out was because @Nanode reached out about a collab and I couldn't find the save file. I was gutted at first but ultimately decided to write more. I have them to think for getting me back into it 🙏

People asked how I did this, save is out but it doesn't show the process. I was messing with the new noise channel and stumbled on "o". I knew "n", "i", and "s" were already possible. "S" was surprisingly difficult. I roughly got them then shaped them with tables. High BPM helps

Who needs the wave channel for voice synthesis when you have the noise channel?

I should correct myself - I was playing with the new retrig on the noise channel, this was still the old noise channel system.

Normally an "S" sound would be very easy but it needs to stand out from the rest of the noise

Unfinished song 4/5 This uses the same instruments as the last one. I was happy with how this started, but never finished it.

Unfinished song 5/5 This song also has a bunch of different attempts at a song using the same instruments, but this is the best part.

Comparison: disassembling LSDj in MGBDS versus my new disassembler

It has all of the features of MGBDIS right now, plan is to add more. The speed upgrade is nice considering I will run this tens of times per minute, but the real advantage is having the framework to add new disassembly tools.

Disassembling LSDj was getting too slow and I needed new tools so I built my own GameBoy disassembler. Disassembling LSDj is now 60 times faster. Excited to get back into it. github.com/rbong/beast
